I have been working at OmniVision Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Everything needs a camera these days so we work with really cool customers and are in cool things, yoga and zoomba classes, great offsites,

    Cons

Nice to have a gym but it could be improved some, not great commuter benefits, fairly strict anti-work from home policy.

    Advice to Management

People don't need to be sitting at their desk to be efficient, working from home can be more productive in some circumstances.

pretty typical semiconductor company, cost-savings sometimes is overly emphasized.

learn new management styles from the new silicon valley companies, pay more attention on creating fun work environment.

    Pros

Friendly staff, very clean facility, love the water fountains, great coffee machine, lunch activities, and best of all, walking distance to Levi stadium.

    Cons

Communication with co worker and management needs improvement. You can be speaking the same language and the other person can still misunderstood you.

I like to list a few suggestions instead of viewing them as Cons

It will be nice to have a few solar panels installed to save power for the company and also create a few electric plug - ins.

Letting employees take off early on Friday will be a nice perk and builds morale also.

Switching to a paperless system will greatly reduce storage, and cut down on cost of paper.

    Advice to Management

have some kind of investment into your employees, like building up their skills and encourage promotion from within. If you don't build up your own employee, they will most likely leave since they will view the company as a place with no growth.

I have been working at OmniVision Technologies as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice atmosphere and nice people to work with. People are courteous and go out of their way to ask how your day is or how a project is coming along. The small company outings are also great because they allow employees to go out and mingle with other employees they don't normally see every day.

    Cons

More company outings or events would be nice. Even just small events like the ice cream social would give employees a chance to take a short break in the middle of the day.
