I have been working at Omnicare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Better pay then retail. Consistent work. Job security. They have a program to pay for SOME schooling. 20 word minimum

    Cons

Meds are consistently in wrong places. Managment above shift supervisors play favorites. New late policy is very annoying. OT is very skiddish, comes and goes a lot

    Advice to Management

Stories of a lot of pharmacists slacking or shopping online when working. Stop playing favorites and reward better on merit, not those that suck up. Treat 3rd shift a little better

I worked at Omnicare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

With some recent managerial changes, it's obvious that Omnicare truly does believe in its mission and values

    Cons

However, as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for -- the same goes with the quality of employee/pharmacy technician. Due to low pay and morale, Omnicare of St. Louis has become nothing but a training ground for the greener pastures and higher pay of Express Scripts, Everspring, and a few other competitors. This has created a constantly turning over staff - impossible to train or develop rapport/trust.

    Advice to Management

Gotta spend money to make money.

    Pros

I have been working at Omnicare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Co workers are good people.

    Cons

No chance for advancement unless into the few lower management positions, and only then if you are one of the upper managements favorites or friends. Far too much nepotism. Employees are treated like children. Constantly understaffed due to call offs and employees leaving. Poor training, learn more from mistakes after the fact then in actual training course. Penalized for mistakes you arent aware you made. Poor wages with laughable increases at yearly intervals based not on merit but on nepotism. Unexpected mandatory overtime for indeterminate periods due to staffing issues. Wasnt the greatest job prior to being sold to CVS, has only gotten worse since sale. Horrible morale among employees, constant topic of discussion is finding a better place to work. Health insurance is atrociously expensive and borderline useless.
