I worked at Omnicell full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The founder and CEO had great rules for the company and he cared about the employees. You could talk to him about anything if you were visiting at the head quarters.

    Cons

Local management recruited an unqualified employee that caused me to have to fix equipment in their territory all the time. This caused me to have more work when I already had a very busy territory.

    Pros

Committed to improvement & technology. Seems to gain in market share every year.

    Cons

Management often treats you like they're doing you a favor by employing you, & do not care if they work field employees to death.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Omnicell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has many experienced Field Service Engineers that go over and beyond to help each other and service equipment. A+ Solid Team Support towards each other.

    Cons

No company vehicles for field service engineers
    No weekend on-call pay
No week day on-call coverage pay
Very little input from service team with new equipment roll-outs
The TSE team contributes tremendously to the company profit line (Reward Them!)

    Advice to Management

Take care of your field engineers, they are the heart beat of the company. Upper management seems to not care about the concerns of the field team.

I have been working at Omnicell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Laid back environment, management cares about family time, management listens to the customer. Recognition for good work.

    Cons

Some areas keep people who are poor performers. Divisions don't go out of their way to help each other out. The job is an at will employment which gives you the fear of loosing your job at any moment for any reason.

    Advice to Management

Tear down the walls between divisions and budgets so teams can work easier with other teams. Remove the at will employment policy. Make the job so you are safe if you do your job and you are not if you don't do it.
