I have been working at Omnicom Media Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Scale of projects provides some interesting initiatives in Media activation

    Cons

Toxic work environment because everyone is scared... all the time. No one asks questions about projects and then point the finger when nothing gets done. People hoard knowledge from others on their immediate team, as if it was a commodity because they want to look smart and point the finger if someone messes up a little bit.

Fear is huge at Omnicom! There is little to no direction from management. Therefore, staff are always scrambling to pick up the pieces and not drop any of the 100 balls in the air.

    Advice to Management

There is no management (figuratively speaking) ... Every manager I have ever had here was absent the majority of time, until things were broken. The they are yelling, instead of figuring out how to further develop their team.

I worked at Omnicom Media Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great media perks if you're on an account that truly invest in media. Great place to start a career. The president of the Chicago office is amazing and truly relatable. Hope she can truly turn this place around. Frequent happy hours

    Cons

Growth is limited. Leadership only cares about filling positions to satisfy clients verses the career development of team memebers. Low pay and filled with micro managers.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the employees and maybe you'll began to see less turn over. Stop treating people as if they are replaceable and treat them as if they are valuable to the company. Invest more in the growth and development of the staff

I have been working at Omnicom Media Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Scale, location, sincerely nothing else that I can think of (free Starbucks is payed for by vendors, not Omnicom)

    Cons

Sweatshop conditions for and expected >50 hrs a week with no overtime or bonuses available. Obvious employee retention issues (above average for this industry) & mgmt somehow doesn't back-fill. Snitches everywhere - especially in upper management. Combative work environment because training is non-existent, so info is a competitive commodity. Lots of trash talk about internal teams and much of the time about the client.

    Advice to Management

Stop high-fiving each other over average business pitches (that you keep losing) and invest in your employees. None of you have the capabilities to execute the day-to-day, so listen to those who do!!!!! Maybe buy some new chairs every now and then, it's disgusting in here. Revenue will increase through quality work, not FTE models... no brainer

    Pros

Good work/life balance depending on what department you work on.

    Cons

Last minutes changes within internal departments which doesn't give you enough time to reschedule your outside day to day routine.
