Good vibe, some perks, decent vacation/holidays.

Egocentric individuals in high places. Low salary, bonus none.

    Advice to Management

"Pathway Group Sets The Standards In Bad Culture"

    Pros

There are not many things that are good to write about. There are some cool colleagues you meet there who are suffering with you.

Be careful with the fake reviews written by Pathway Managers to be sure they can recruit new employees.

    Cons

There is a lot of turnover here. I thought people were leaving because that is how advertising is but this is worse.

The main reason is uncomfortable, depressing, and deceiving culture Pathway shows. Besides the cubicles and windowless office space, the environment was very depressing. Also I hate the deceiving culture. I felt like I was always lying to the client. The clients demand their performance. Colleagues and your group directors expect you to be deceiving. Pathway does it so much, they don't even realize they are doing it. They think of it as professional discourse. I've heard lies from improvement in training to "temporary office space".

The most relieving thing is your first day after you quit Pathway and work somewhere else. You feel how different it is from management to environment to just about everything.

There is also a heavy sense of favoritism towards the employees they like and want to keep for a long time. Pathway does not value all of their employees. I feel like no one is aware of what is going on except for people who decided to quit and move on to better places.

    Advice to Management

It takes a gut check. Why are you being deceiving? There are several changes needed in the culture. This goes beyond the need for a better office space. Even if you moved 195 Broadway, how can that be better when you don't treat your employees well.

    Pros

Pathway is the direct response arm of OMG. I love that it's a smaller agency within a larger organization. You have the closeness and intimacy of a small company but all the benefits and resources of a big one. Some pros: great company culture, team environment, friendly people, interesting work and fairly good work/life balance (it's media and client facing so long hours on some days isn't completely unexpectedness). There's a lot of training available for learning and development across a variety of topics. There’s opportunity to move within departments if it’s a good fit. Senior management is very approachable and seems interested in getting to know their employees.

    Cons

It's tough to resist the bagels and cream cheese that's available every morning! But seriously, I think the layout of the "temporary" office space in the Daily News building by Grand Central that we have been in a few years is not great. It's kind of long and narrow so you have to remember to leave a few minutes early if your meeting is on the other side of the office.

    Advice to Management

Please remember that your employees are interested to know how the agency is doing on an ongoing basis. We have annual meetings but maybe a bi-annual meeting would be helpful.

    Cons

Omincom is a corporate shell that doesn't really care about it's employees.
