Lowest Paid Media Managers in Ireland

May 18, 2022 - Account Manager in Dublin, Dublin
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great staff and atmosphere at junior levels for the most part. CEO and OMD Managing Director have great sincere interaction with employees Very good for college graduates looking for experience on global clients, but have a plan to move after a year and do not stay longer than 2 years.

    Cons

Non-competitive salaries at every level, exploitation of junior staff. Long hours and expectations to commit personal life to the job. Senior management are outdated in how they manage their people. Lack of empathy, bordering on soft bullying, especially between each agency under the OMG umbrella (OMD, PHD). Extremely high staff turnover. Not a huge amount of support when it comes to personal issues. Clear divisions between teams with cliques and gossip spurred by senior management Non-competitive benefits. Long hours without recognition or reimbursement under the guise of 'experience' and the fallacy of 'that's how media works'. The hybrid working policy is not as transparent as it seems, the expectations are realistically that you should be in the office. Extremely low morale among staff with multiple stories of mental health issues due to bullying and expectations at a senior level. No matter what, clients will get the priority, at the expense of underpaid staff and their mental health. Organised chaos between teams. Very strong superiority complex between teams and OMD/PHD in Dublin. Senior management will do anything to save their own skin, at the expense of others. Extreme condescension trickles down from senior management and amplifies at middle management. The impression is given that you should be grateful for promotions, rather than being earned or deserved. Very little attempt to retain staff, with no clear or defined route for progression and when progression occurs, salaries are still insulting.
