    I worked at Omniture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Josh James & team built a great sales-driven culture that rewards success. Of all the sales teams I've seen in the Internet space, Omniture's was the most well-run.

    Cons

    There was an inner circle of Utah-based management that outsiders couldn't possibly penetrate. Traveling to Utah all the time got old, though the skiing was great.

    Advice to Management

    Keep building Omniture's DNA into Adobe!

    Pros

    Omniture has good benefits, smart people, organized sales team, good engineering staff, and an aggressive pay structure if you are a performer.

    Cons

    Omniture has way too many sales and sales engineers; there is little to no advancement opportunities to move up in the organization.

    Advice to Management

    Micromanaging people only leads to resentment and a poor level of trust among employees. Sales is spread too thin.

    * very interesting product set
    * good customer base
    * aggressive sales team
    * nice office environment
    * helpful and friendly co-workers
    * supportive of charitable outside activities

    Cons

    * remote offices not integrated well (yet)
    * wide disparity in compensation packages
    * difficult to exit employees who are widely recognized as not adding value

    Advice to Management

    * verify that compensation is commensurate with the market rates
    * initiate campaigns to involve remote offices, particularly international locations
    * hire in a few senior members who have worked with and grown enterprise sales and product development

    Pros

    Good market opportunity for Omniture in the SAAS / analytics space.

    Cons

    Not a technology company at its heart. If you're a geek, be ready to be disappointed and shocked!

    Advice to Management

    Get your act together, invest in smart people, hire intelligent engineers. Large teams != output. Smart teams == success

    Founders as CEO, isn't a great idea once a company has matured. Jerry Yang @ Yahoo! should teach us something. Omniture needs a neutral / impartial / unbiased / passionate CEO.
