I have been working at OnStaff USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

OnStaff USA is by far the most progressive, aggressive recruiting firm in SW Michigan. They are structured differently than traditional recruiting firms in the sense that you are a Recruiter, Account Manager and Business Developer all in one.

They regularly meet with all employees and brainstorm on how to reach more applicants, how to better retain their workforce, and how to streamline almost every aspect of the company.

    Cons

Because of a "Non-Compete Clause" (which is standard for the industry), it can be difficult to take you experience to places you have networked with to further your career. This could potentially leave you open to litigation if not honored.

    Advice to Management

Put your "Aces in their Places"! Many bright, young, energetic minds come across your payroll. Focus on retaining these individuals for the long-haul and all branches will see steady growth through experience and quality customer service.

I have been working at OnStaff USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

quick placements, health benefits offered, staff were friendly. Staff called back quickly with an offer of placement. They want to be involved after you're placed for performance reviews.

    Cons

The pay is low, but there are opportunities for advancement with some placements. They did not fully inform me about the particulars of where I would be working (department, etc). They make you pay for your own drug testing.

    Advice to Management

Advice for management would be to stop making temps pay for they're own drug testing and the items needed to start the job.

    Pros

Working at OnStaff allows me to manage my position and keep other opportunities in mind in case it's not the right fit for me. working with Onstaff allows job growth and advancement into positions that I've aways wanted to try.

    Cons

Sometimes you can get treated slightly differently as a temporary worker and it can make one uncomfortable, it's just people don't understand how valuable us temps really are, and they expect us to go above and beyond the other workers and associates. I feel like they think were not trying enough for them and it feels like were being used to pick up the slack their associates reflect sometimes.

    Advice to Management

I'd like a manager to be fair and honest while considering the goals of all the workers and not only their associates, or friends.

I have been working at OnStaff USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Easy to get a job.

    Cons

Will basically lie to get you in a job. Will tell you it is easy to get hired and when you get there one finds out that it takes six months or more to maybe get a position, finding out there are people who have worked three years with no hire on. There is no advancement and no ability for a raise. This is a totally dead end job.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like human beings. Do not lie to your workers. Give them at least some modicum of a raise at least.

    Pros

Diversity of industrial jobs provided especially in manufacturing
Temp Agency that works with fortune 500 companies such as Stryker
Good place to work for while you're looking for something better

    Cons

Most jobs are "True temp" so chances of getting directly hired in the place they place you can be low.

    Advice to Management

Diversify the companies they go for and advocate for more direct placement and direct hire positions while making more qualifications for those types of jobs.
