I worked at One Hour Air Heating & Air Conditioning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

they had a decent sales training course they sent us to in virginia. Learned a good bit there, never got paid back for my expenses though..??

    Cons

they provide no training whatsoever for their employees which i find unbelievable. This would be good for super experienced people but if you have little to no experience they expect you to take their subpar training and apply it without any job shadowing or help from management. I've never seen anything like it. With that said, their prices are a good 25-50% higher than the competition for the same exact junky products. Makes selling them that much harder for people without decades of hvac experience. Preys on customer's fear of their system failing which in most cases is straight up lies. Unless you're a selling tech, people are probably not going to believe a word you say in regards to that. I made less than a grand in like 5 weeks and never got paid for training, hiring an attorney and talking with the labor board about it after over 10 attempts to collect the money. Also they send their reps from myrtle beach to their baby office in charleston that has no staff because of all these issues. So all the service guys and sales guys for the most part are forced to drive from myrtle beach and georgetown to get the inspections and service done. As you can imagine this is a total disaster, and contributes poorly to overall morale of both offices. High turnover with lowest pay in the local industry

    Advice to Management

go out with your guys and show them how to sell effectively ? whether you actually know the step by step corporate recommends or not.. You prefer to hire guys with little to no hvac experience how can you expect them to do anything but look stupid in front of the customers

I worked at One Hour Air Heating & Air Conditioning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The techs and staff are easy to get along with and help out when needed. the training and knowledge is a plus.

    Cons

work load can be a bit to much but that is a life of a tech. other than that some meetings can get a bit brutal.

    Advice to Management

keep up the good work and training. the company has gone a long way up and proud to everyone making it happen

I worked at One Hour Air Heating & Air Conditioning full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The owner Mark is a great employer. He consistently invests in his employees (best training available and also springs for lots of fun events). He is fair, extremely even-tempered and very optimistic. I received a company car, gas card, cell and Ipad. Good value for the product/services you're selling (if sales position) but prices are definitely among highest in area. They will give you all the support you need if you struggle.

    Cons

For sales, prices are on the high end which makes it a one-call close type situation. If you don't have hard sell abilities, or a great understanding of HVAC, you may struggle.

    Advice to Management

    None, they're already crushing it!

I worked at One Hour Air Heating & Air Conditioning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They offered really good compensation for sales of products. They were not a commission based pay only. The owner at the time was very personal and personally recognized the employees that worked hard.

    Cons

The products were more expensive than competitors products which made sales some what challenging. Some of the management were a bit incompetent and struggled gaining the respect of some of the more challenging employees

I worked at One Hour Air Heating & Air Conditioning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was a great compensation plan, you would get paid very well for your sells. Pre set appointments (most of the time), and company trips.

    Cons

Work-life balance was terrible, would leave my house around 5:30 am every morning and would not get home until after 8pm. You are always on call, so if you get a lead on saturday or sunday, you must go to it. You do get 1 day off every 14 days though (rotating sunday). No way to progress to management. We went though 4 sales managers while I was there, every one was brought in from outside. They are VERY expensive, so be prepared to feel okay with charging people 4X what they really should be paying.

    Advice to Management

    Allow growth from employees.
