    Pros

This is a good place to work in terms of staff and mission. People here care about their work and generally do a great job. ONE has a great reputation and more resources than most nonprofits and is well-balanced in terms of policy and advocacy. Great website and great branding. Hold lots of membership events.

    Cons

The top management doesn't really change much, so little room for upward mobility. Most people leave after 3-4 years. Lots of work, no much work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Broaden workforce and include more mid-level positions to get things done. Top heavy.

    Pros

It is a small company with relatively nice benefits package and generous good vacation package. It has a good location surrounded with other high tech companies.

    Cons

It's salary is not very competitive compare to other high tech companies. And it's hard to grow if higher management changes a lot.

    Advice to Management

To made salary competitive to other high tech companies. To stand out from other via benefits, activities, event and other.

    Pros

Paid internship, which tends to be rare in Washington. Everyone is really friendly and willing to include you in projects

    Cons

You'll do a lot of administrative work...but hey, you're an intern.

I worked at One full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Exciting policy area, high profile campaigns.

    Cons

No concept of work-life balance; several big egos dominate, verging on harassment at times; the organisation sometimes struggles to retain credibility on issues of substance. Very stingy benefits package.

    Advice to Management

Stop deferring to bullies. Your staff will be more productive if you allow them to switch off at times.
