    Cons

It was an hour and half away, needed something closer

    Advice to Management

To make sure all new hire are aware of the scheduled hours and let them know up front that they will have to work one sat out of a month

I worked at OneMain Financial full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Direct Manager, Benefits Flexibility, A job,

    Cons

Goals, Upper Management , Training Stress, Unethical business practices

    Advice to Management

No exit interview, everything was done online and super unprofessional. I had a great direct manager, however district manager was nowhere to be found most of the time it was easy for them to manage via email and send the same email daily about production. No coaching and absolutely no way to move up in the company. As for lending they are looking for A plus customers with D credit. Sales goals are extremely hard to hit,...

      Cons

Your ears bleed from all the phone calls

      Advice to Management

Maybe you should get on the phones and try and make collection calls. It’s not as easy as management expects it to be.

I have been working at OneMain Financial full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

I can't think of any pros , this has been a hostile takeover, the outcome for the "blue team " is bleak at best !

      Cons

The hours change depending on the week ok the month and delinquency. Upper management only seem to care about growing . The do not seem to care about work / life balance . You are constantly micro managed and the drama and gossip between branches is ridiculous!

I have been working at OneMain Financial for more than a year

      Pros

Benefits & commissions - work life balance

      Cons

Keeping people in debt - generally not feeling good about what your doing - debt collecting - putting people in greater debt when they cant afford the original loan and then going back to refinance them.

      Advice to Management

It's a dirt business but someone's gotta do it .

I worked at OneMain Financial full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Free breakfast once a week, and weekends off most of the time.

      Cons

I spent 20+ years previously working successfully for 3 other corporations. I was recruited by OneMain to be a Branch Account Manager, and I had anticipated a long and successful career with this my 4th employer. During the first couple of months of full-time employment I was trained and permitted to do very very little -- primarily processing monthly payments, completing credit financing applications, and otherwise...

      Advice to Management

I have no advice for management, as they certainly don't care what I think anyway. And while I submitted to top management a VERY detailed exit report of my experience and time there, I received absolutely NO feedback from top management other than to be subsequently told by them that they stand by their decision to terminate my employment.

I worked at OneMain Financial full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Able to work independently, good benefit package, great experience in financial services. Employees are empowered to make decisions and treat their portfolio as their business. Overall, great well rounded experience for anyone wanting to start a business and/or move into management.

      Cons

Lots of collection calls and day to day can be repetitive at times if you don't learn fast or take on more responsibilities. Branches have limited staffing and your PTO must by approved by upper management as a result, in case they need you at another location

      Negative Outlook

I have been working at OneMain Financial full-time

      Pros

Hours are great, lots of vacation, holiday and sick time off. Not a hard job.

      Cons

COLLECTIONS!!! Expect to be on the phone collecting from the same clients every month who never want to pay their bill and if you DONT collect, then you never see a bonus. No room to advance. Management set unrealistic goals and micromanage way too much. Not a career.

      Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging. Treat your employees with respect. Control your temper. Focus is on too much on whats wrong and no credit on what is done right. You have some great people but poor management will chase them all away. Expect to see alot of turnover and waste time training new associates instead of developing the great people you already have.
