    Pros

Secure work environment. Very punctual and professional environment. Great location.

    Cons

Management is out of touch and micromanages as a result. Some managers may take away any thought of flexibility even if you've proven to be a top performer and have a team that overachieves.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to improve their relationship with their staff on all levels. Show them they are appreciated and they will work even harder. Reward them for excelling in their duties.

I worked at OneWest Bank (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to work in different departments and get an overall view of the various facets of mortgage banking.

    Laid back atmosphere.

A great entry to those who are interested in mortgage banking but little to no experience in the field.

    Cons

Long periods of downtime with no work.

Management not always clear on direction of projects.

Attitude of "I have a job" instead "I work for a great company" is off putting.

    Advice to Management

Get clear on direction of bank.

    Pros

Small bank feel. Training good. Plenty to do to stay busy

    Cons

Comany runs "promotions" with same list over and over. Goals always go up by a lot. Expectation in no less than 3million per quarter. Pay low for whats expected. Must be able to provide company with prospect clients consistently and perform at high level constantly

    Advice to Management

All managers are different. Hopefully you get a good one.

-On-boarding & training were fairly comprehensive

    Cons

-Company was going through major changes throughout my tenure leading to inconsistent campaigns and expectations.
-Goals changed frequently with poor communication to the employees

    Pros

Training here is AMAZING you will defiantly learn banking here. Also their banking operations is great too. Most of the employees are great to work with too.

    Cons

Not enough staff, bank is losing its small community feel and trying to be more like a bigger bank. Pay is not that great, unless you are a new hire.

    Advice to Management

Help branches have the correct amount of staff. Bankers and Assistant Managers are spending more time being tellers then doing their job. Hire tellers to help bankers go out for business and AM's do their Operations correctly. Pay your employees right so they don't leave.
