    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

Great benefits - as a student I could expense meals and work equipment. Everyone who works there is great!

    Cons

Sometimes the work was very repetitive and it was unclear what the supervisor wanted from the students.

    Advice to Management

The Ministry of Transportation is a great place to work and could be improved by giving the workers meaningful jobs.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Ontario Ministère des Transports full-time

    Pros

Good work/life balance. Good salary. Good people for the most part.

    Cons

Approvals. Risk averse. Some managers/directors should move on but never do, therefore bringing the whole branch down.

    Advice to Management

Be innovative. Support new technology and new ideas.

    Pros

Since it is the government there is job security. It is also very easy to work your way up in the Ministry or to move to different areas of the Ministry.

    Cons

Difficult culture to integrate into as many employees have been working in the company for years. It can be difficult to get your foot in the door as most hiring is done within the Ministry.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to properly integrate new employees with regards to office or company jargon, as well as with coworkers.

  11. "VBA Intern"

    Pros

The environment is fairly laid back. I was never pressured to do overtime. There's some flexibility with working hours. Even as an intern, I got a fairly nice cubicle space.

    Cons

I had a good experience, but some other interns had no real work for most of the term. It seems that they hire interns at a constant rate, regardless of whether there's anything for them to do.

    Advice to Management

Try to be a bit more flexible with budget, equipment, and so on. If you're doing technical work on a regular basis, it may be cheaper to hire full-time employees rather than getting consultants.
