    Pros

Easy work however you have to assign yourself tasks unless you want to be photocopying all day.

    Cons

theyre not vested in you, the entire process is slow and culture is seriously lacking. Seriously, the majority of older employees are rude and not interested in teaching students

I worked at Ontario Ministry of Government Services as an intern

    Pros

Very relaxed environment. Can work at your own pace. Staff is very friendly and include all interns in weekly meetings. Management is also good.

    Cons

Not very challenging, won't get to do very much work. Things moves at a very slow pace and there's a lot of red tape.

    Advice to Management

You're doing a great job! Maybe a little more employee engagement activities would be nice. BY the end of my term, I still didn't know a lot of people at the office.

    Pros

good rates, new building and nice facilities.

    Cons

no permanent workstation, need to carry my laptop all the time.

    Advice to Management

Consultants do most of the work in IT. They need to be treated the same way as FT. They need to have nice working area with at least two monitors.

I have been working at Ontario Ministry of Government Services full-time

    Pros

lota of training, attention on work life balance. good salary, fantastic benefits. Mix of challenging work and the "things that need to get done" keeps you feeling productive.

    Cons

Politics, politics, politics. It doesn't help that departments are so spread out. Toronto gets more attention while the satellites are ignored - hiring practices make it hard to get hired in Toronto if you're not within 135(125?) km.

    Advice to Management

stop the bias against non Torontonians!

    Pros

Fairly stable, even for a contract employee.
Good people that genuinely care, but dont always have the power or resoirces to do qhat they would like to.

    Cons

    Hard to get in full-time.
They fired 20 managers and laid off alot of employees while I was there.

    Advice to Management

Keep fighting the good fight. Hopefully things are on an upswing and you can start making some of the changes tou were hoping for.
