I have been working at Opel Automobile full-time

    Pros

International working company which gives you the possibility to work in international teams and collect international work experience. The company culture and thinking has been developed great in the past years!

    Cons

Sometimes low pace decision making, low pace in adapting to changes or news for work environment like new tools or processes.

    Advice to Management

    Be confident, modern and quick!

I worked at Opel Automobile full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Drive cars at weekend + access to car scheme
-Some nice people exist but they get offset unfortunately by the not so nice people

    Cons

    -Zero focus on career development
-A lot of old fossils there who are negative, cynical and unwilling to do any work for the good of the company
-A lot of strong characters and internal childish bickering
-Zero emphasis on team work....in all my time there, I never heard the word 'team' once be said by any managers

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the aging workforce and continue hiring younger more dynamic employees. Create more focus on career development, this may retain your younger staff.

    Pros

    -Nice colleges
    - Very interesting industry

    Cons

Opel is a very traditional company with no interest to follow the trends in the market. Nobody is willing to change anything they are still working with business practices of the previous century. The company has a lot of financial issues to solve and is not hiring young graduates. So, i would not recommend Opel for an Internship.

    Advice to Management

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Ability to see the big picture of the industry

    Cons

No career opportunities whatsoever. The industry is stable, the only growth comes from the recovery after a huge drop during the crisis, yet there's no need for new people. Join a growing industry instead. (e.g. Auto parts)
