    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

    Benefits are okay.
    Decent co-workers.
Great way to start your career and gain experience.

    Cons

Upper management plays favoritism. You can't move on to another position without having a minimum of a year. Your hard work goes unnoticed because those who have been there longer take credit for the work you do. The only way to move up in this organization is if you have all the latest gossip and bad mouth and lie about those management do not like.

    Advice to Management

Believe in your employees, and promote those who actually put in the work, not those who gossip.

    Pros

I loved working at open door medical center as a development/event planning intern. They put me to good use and I learned a lot. I Worked directly with the Director of Events and Creative Services to plan various fundraising events. Researched new event ideas, sponsor prospects and event vendor. Worked on large mailings, list management, and data entries as it related to the events and donors.

    Cons

It was an unpaid internship. Not really an opportunity to turn internship into a career at that company. Beside that I loved working there!

I worked at Open Door Family Medical as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lindsay F is a great CEO. Intelligent, fast-paced, really friendly, making Open Door a great place to work.

    Cons

Wide range of intelligence among- some very smart, others not so much.
The type of work interns do varies greatly among department. Some interns had to do primarily administrative work, others got to be involved in more hands on projects. Because of this disparity in level of work difficulty, some interns got more out of the experience than others.

    Advice to Management

Have all summer interns do more hands-on, meaningful work.
