I worked at OpenText full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, good pay, company direction made sense. They seem to buy up every little software company around and then try to fit them into their grand scheme.

    Cons

very spread out teams, sometimes hard to find others in the company doing the same thing. Senior management seems to be trying to cut costs by hiring teams in India and then laying off the original team.

    Advice to Management

Don't outsource everything, it rarely leads to better software.

I worked at OpenText full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people are extremely intelligent and friendly. A very family like atmosphere. Ever changing software products so never a dull moment!

    Cons

Continuous travel or hire freezes, and each time OpenText acquires more companies, there are numerous rounds of layoffs. I dodged at least 20 rounds until my position was selected for termination.

    Advice to Management

Cultivate growth from within and compensate loyalty instead of laying off the people who make your company so successful.
