    Pros

    Flexible work timings
    Good office location

    Cons

This is a good example of how a team and company can get ruined with no values or integrity. Values is just a webpage on the website with absolutely no meaning. Worked for 5 years and never had a meaningful review. Politics is very very high even for such a small company. You don't need merit or credentials to be successful just be friends/part of the Boss's club. Since the Boss also got his position doing the same.

    Advice to Management

Analyze why the company is still a startup for the past 10 years! with exponentially decreasing revenues. I think the company needs the product signalhub more than its client's now.

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. No strict 9 AM reporting time. Nobody comes before 11 AM.
    2. Free Friday lunches..
    3. Monthly / Quarterly events.
    4. Approachable senior management

    Cons

    1. Politics. At almost all BU's and all levels. Especially in India.
    2. No work life balance. All calls / work is scheduled during US business hours.
    3. No growth career / opportunities. If you stick with Opera for long, you will see you're doing the same what you used to do when you joined.

    Advice to Management

Minimize if you cant kill politics...

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friday Lunches, good payment, regular outings and office/team events, monthly birthday celebrations, good learning curve, friendly employees. Many types of reimbursements available.

    Cons

Their proprietary Signal Hub which has no future and it's experience doesn't count for other industries. Too many portals inside. Unhygienic office environment on Friday. Most of the employees are into vices (drinking, smoking, drugs), stressful job.

    Advice to Management

Employees latest performance must be kept in mind over the overall track of performance. Try to retain your existing employees better, as you can't always rely on freshers for all projects in the future.

    Pros

For IITians (analytics group, large in number):
    Free snacks & cold-drinks
    Flexible office hours
    Work from home
    Laid back environment
    No work pressure

    Cons

For Software group (A very small group, less than 50):
Little or no snacks and no cold drinks at all
    Office hours being tracked
    No work from home
Either lots of work pressure or no work at all

    Advice to Management

Scrap the software group if it's not needed in the company or treat them equal to analytics group. At the end, they all are employees.

Opportunity to interact with other culture, fun and you work on your own time even from home.

    Cons

Management is not clear as of what Opera Solutions vision is.

    Advice to Management

Opera Solutions was the best as a consulting financial company. Data mining !not good!

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Although you might have to burn midnight oil sometimes, the job is mostly relaxed.

    Cons

The set of technologies used is narrow, and mostly disconnected from the rest of the software industry. The work that you would get though, cannot be called non-trivial. Lets just say, if you are decently knowledgeable and ambitious, then you wouldn't need to apply yourself to get the job done.

    Advice to Management

I feel the whole software group in the company has been treated like a step-child.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Literally no work load for people in consultancy profiles.
The few seniors in the firm that there are, are mediocre and hence its easy to impress and progress.

    Cons

Does not build up your skills and experience. With a clearly unorganized leadership, its difficult to gain much.

    Advice to Management

Management consulting needs to be emphasized more if the company wishes to retain its employees.
