    Pros

    1. No strict 9 AM reporting time. Nobody comes before 11 AM.
    2. Free Friday lunches..
    3. Monthly / Quarterly events.
    4. Approachable senior management

    Cons

    1. Politics. At almost all BU's and all levels. Especially in India.
    2. No work life balance. All calls / work is scheduled during US business hours.
    3. No growth career / opportunities. If you stick with Opera for long, you will see you're doing the same what you used to do when you joined.

    Advice to Management

Minimize if you cant kill politics...

    Pros

    # Work from home.
    # High-end laptops.
    # Free blackberry phones with unlimited STD, ISD and Data.
    # Work with people from top IIT and IIM.
    # Work with top-notch brands (clients).
    # Swanky office.
    # Daily free snacks and drinks.
    # Free Friday lunch.
    # Free cab drop facility after 8PM.
    # Free dinner reimbursement after 8PM.
    # Monthly free cocktail party.
    # Chance of on-site (read US ;-) ) visit (if you're a good politician and manipulator you should nail a couple of onsite visit per year)
    # Chance of US transfer. (if you're a good politician and manipulator you should nail it comfortably)

    Cons

    # They keep on ranting big data, big data, big data...
    # Fellows from IITs and IIM rule the company - if you are not from IIT/IIM you will be treated like a step child. (Not applicable for people good at politics and manipulations ;-) )
    # Too much politics. Some particular people are decision makers and unless you lick their feet you will not progress much in this company.
    # Awesome place for smart and showy people. Hard workers will get crushed by these set of smart and showy people.
    # Outdated and in house technologies used.
    # If you are not from IIT/IIM you will drastically downgrade your market value here.
    # Full of greedy leaders.

    Advice to Management

    # Please grow up.
    # Show the door to greedy leaders.
    # You are part of a company not any political party to do and encourage politics.
    # Don't rant "Equal opportunity employer" PROVE instead.

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time

    Pros

Interesting problems for demanding customers, particularly in finance. Opportunity to work with neat tools (Hadoop, etc.) on large problem sets. Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Bread and butter is in less attractive domains, such as purchasing optimization. Also, this is a consulting not a product company, so be prepared to move to where the billing happens. As an engineer, prepare to be flexible and work on a variety of different projects.

    Advice to Management

Offer a better technical track for engineers. Too often working Opera can feel like being a billable resource at a staffing company rather than part of a team.

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free Friday Lunches
Great office Location ( New jersey Office)
    Happy Hours

    Cons

There are more managers than people who actually do the work (coding and analysis).
At a single time , 2-3 managers will give you ideas to implement and everyone expects the results. If you complain, they will ask you to manage time properly.

Signal Hub is Very bad. They sell this product to many clients ( who buy it because its cheaper in market) but there are issues every day.

Work - Life balance is the worst.

They do not have enough money to give Bonus to everyone.

Do not get stuck in this company for more than a year or else you will be stuck for ever.

    Advice to Management

E3 , F3 does not change the working conditions. Let your employees have some life as well.

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Work life balance is good.
Very good payers. I can say on par with top tech gaints.
The project you got here matters a lot in terms of work life balance. I didn't got as hectic work as my peers got. They will recognise you by actions not merely by words.

    Cons

The work is not very challenging compared to e-commerce companies. Company is not having very organised structure.. Things will change in no time. But they are improving a lot.. I observed clear difference in last 18 months.

    Advice to Management

Consistency is more important.. The idea with which you established the company is great.. Very potential.. But focus more on that not for temporary gains.
