I worked at Option One Mortgage full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

OOMC serviced loans throughout the United States. There was plenty of work and OOMC really wanted to keep homeowners in their property rather than taking it from them.

    Cons

Working in foreclosure is stressful and takes a mental toll on a person. When you reach your customer that is in foreclosure they are already upset and not willing to discuss their options because they do not feel they have any.

    Advice to Management

Be more creative and proactive in providing solutions for clients to stay in their home.

    Pros

Hours are short. Most people leave the office by 5pm, regardless of the group you work in. People are friendly (for the most part) and they try to have fun. Personal life is respected very much. You get a lot of vacation time and even health benefits for your pet!

    Cons

People do not communicate. Many employees are incompetent and work just enough to not get fired. Pay is low and they are not willing to spendmoney to get good talent. They normally have to outsource difficult projects because they dont trust the full timers to do the job right. Lotd of outsourced Indians roaming around.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck!

    Pros

Work life balanced associated with quality compensation. Great overall team/family enviorment. I looked forward to coming to work everyday being able to provide immediate impact to the bottom line finanicials of the organization. Everyone had a voice from the Admin professionals to Sr. Leaders, a good idea was always reconized as a good idea.

    Cons

Lack of formalized process and policies in place. In addition the need to manage by concensous. Management staff as a whole is exceptional however there are some leaders in place that are either underqualified or lack knowledge to complete the job effectivley. Coupled with difficult opportunities to advance within in specific departments.

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you are doing
