Current Employee, Thank you for 10 years with Opus Bank! We appreciate your service. I am sorry you are not having a good experience currently. I, and Retail Bank leadership, would welcome the opportunity to speak to you to better understand the issues you are facing ...

I worked at Opus Bank full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are several amazing talented individuals with brilliant minds and capabilities that have been a pleasure to work with. Their experience and drive to research is admirable.

    Cons

Senior management lacks leadership skills therefore fails to develop employees. Career advancement should be based on skill and commitment as opposed to friendships and likability. Retail Banking leaders consistently cover up poor practices and fail to disclose details with internal partners. Accountability tactics are non existent or unethically executed.

    Advice to Management

Embrace talent instead of being threatened by it. Senior management should step down so actual leader can create a healthy work environment as opposed to a hostile one.

I have been working at Opus Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    The company does pay well.

    Cons

I have been in the banking industry for 15 years and have had a very successful career. I moved to Opus, thinking that it would be a great career opportunity for me, but sadly, what I found was the opposite. I still work for the company and have been relatively successful, but the way Opus operates, one wonders how they are not drowning in lawsuits and penalties. There are many individuals, from senior...

    Advice to Management

To have a successful company, you must care about your employees and want their success. You must train them and think about their well being. You should look at institutions that have 92%, 88%, etc, CEO rating and learn from what they do. 41% CEO rating should be unacceptable.

I worked at Opus Bank full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Not sure there is a good reason to work there, unless you just can't find a job elsewhere!!

    Cons

I cannot even begin to describe the working conditions. They are the worst, branches are short staffed, good people being let go left and right and just nasty, very nasty upper management. Not sure why they have Area Retail Leaders either, because I wonder what it is that they do, other than to buddy up to their leader. Senior Management is the worst, no support and don't...

    Advice to Management

I don't have any, as someone already said you have all the answers. But, be careful how you treat people, you all need to take a class.

I have been working at Opus Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working with some truly smart and committed people.

    Cons

Everything starts and stops at the top. Senior management doesn't care about any of the employees...just whether or not sales goals are being fulfilled so that they can get their bonuses and make them look good. Turnover is high. HR exists just to fire people. Favoritism is rampant.

    Advice to Management

Nothing that they would listen to, because they already have all the answers.

I worked at Opus Bank full-time for less than a year

      Pros

There were none. I don't have any. I just have to reach the 20 word minimum.

      Cons

Another reviewer said it best, RUN! As fast as you can away from this joke of a "bank". You will work for a bunch of egotistical, uneducated, disrespectful and heartless people. I'm mainly referring to Senior Management who berate, belittle and cheat the staff on a daily basis. While I was there, bonuses were cut THE DAY BEFORE payouts with a conference call giving us some lame...
