    - dedicated people and managers to make company successful - flexible enough to know when to change a process and move in a new direction - taking time to identify the right people for the right positions

    Cons

While the company transitions from a small company to a larger one, there is a lot of work to be done. There is a lot of stress but also a lot of support.

A very generous company, with really great and talented people.

    Sep 23, 2011 -  in Bellevue, WA

    Pros

People worked well together and you always felt part of a team. A family at work. Management really cared about their employees. They were very well taken care of.

    Cons

The real estate development industry can be a roller coaster ride. Opus had to downsize quite a bit due to the economy and a few major internal issues. They had to dissolve a few entities and close several offices-then regroup. It will be difficult to find employment with them unless you live in MN.

    Sink or Swim

Jan 8, 2015 - Associate Project Manager in Minnetonka, MN
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Decent compensation and benefits. Not a lot of micromanagement but needs to have some day to day management involvement.

    Cons

ZERO training. Expected to know everything and complete you job tasks the way your upper manager wanted, yet had very little day to day assistance or instructions. Garbage in garbage out. Expect to work from home most nights. Self-performed work needs to be heavily addressed. No wonder most managers want to sub everything out, field crews are left to their own and the work takes as long as it takes and costs and much as it costs. No control.

    Pros

I have been able to make an impact in my role. People are friendly and caring and good work is valued and recognized.

    Cons

Sometime groups move forward before fully understanding the process needed. Tends to be a lot of secrecy around things adn the whole picture isn't always evident.
