      High performance culture

Apr 18, 2021 - Director in New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

For people who want to work hard, achieve something special, learn how to build their own business and how to become an expert at recruitment, sales and negotiation I really don't think there couldn't be a better place than this. The team set high standards and support each other in maintaining them. High performers earn really well too.

      Cons

High standards means the work and the pace is demanding. It is not a place to come and just earn a salary and be comfortable, it is a place to work hard and earn the rewards, so that makes it tough for some people. The team hold each other accountable and it take a lot of humility for people to take full responsibility for their business and to keep pushing to raise the bar. That does mean that there are no egos amongst the team though, and everyone is helpful and supportive in each others' success.

      Best Job I've Ever Had

Apr 15, 2021 - Senior Recruitment Consultant in Tampa, FL
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Currently I am a Senior Recruitment Consultant. The salary is North of Competitive with an uncapped commission structure that drives the saying "the work you put in, is what you get out." This role sets you up for success and even more success if you buy in and put the work toward achieving your goals and the companies goals. Our team is close knit providing an atmosphere of one wins we all win and everyone wants everyone else to do well. The office being right downtown in Tampa is a plus as well. The management is supportive but also pushes for your best and when getting the best results also equals more $$$. The process is one that is learned, perfected and shaped into your own and gives you the ability to take sales into the direction of your choosing once comfortable.

      Cons

I have zero cons for Opus.

High performing environment with top billers in the industry

Feb 9, 2021 - Recruitment Consultant in Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

In the Sydney office, there is a great culture with great incentives and rewards plus coms structure. People care about recruitment and put the time and effort for their clients, candidates and peers. Especially the manager I have never seen managers that care so much and work as hard for the employees in the business. If I have a small issue I know I can go to talk to the MD for help like closing a deal. Great training for junior and career progression to a Senior as they take the time to help you target clients and meeting that help you plan out your desk. If you want to earn good money you work hard and Opus knows what it takes and how to get you there so if you don't want KPIs/high billing and want to sit on your bum then this isnt the place for you.

      Cons

The base is low but the coms structure & incentives out ways that as its a high performing environment you OTE is great and works out to be the same as other agencies if not more!

      "sweatshop recruitment agency"

Feb 7, 2021 - Senior Recruitment Consultant in Sydney
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good for juniors, because juniors are naive and want to work hard. If you're a recruitment consultant with experience - you're probably better off finding another agency or boutique one. The KPIS are so extreme, Opus only cares about volume. It's about how much you're spamming clients and candidates rather than how much quality you're getting. There isn't much "way" to recruit, it is just about volume, volume, volume. If you spoke to 50 managers a day, you'll make Craig very happy :) Oh, the office in barangaroo is quite nice but? why need a nice office if your pay is so bad? Train here & go elsewhere if you're a junior.

      Cons

Very low base Stress Arrogant managers Terrible culture, honestly. You get brought down constantly by managers, all they talk about are why aren't you hitting your KPIs. Everyone sleeps with each other in the office and I'm not even exaggerating.... the two TA's at Opus have a lot of stories to tell No work life balance You'll soon realise you work for stress, rather than for money This review sounds exaggerated I know, but try Opus at your own risk & you'll come back to this review and understand.

      Manchester KPI Army Camp

Dec 23, 2020 - Recruitment Consultant in Manchester, England, England
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Working from home. Pay ok salaries in line with market average.

      Cons

The most KPI heavy environment you will probably ever be apart of within recruitment with constant emails going around about how many calls have been done, cv’s to clients to even fake adverts posted. Also updating managers on a day plan 3 times a day which you have to create before you start work and not in work hours. (This is on top of doing a week plan also). Commission structure poor compared to other agencies in the area. Very old technology used including a database that is very complicated and slow to use. Old school recruitment stuck in the past. High churn and do not value any new ideas or opinions (managers are always right).
