I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The benefits and salaries are top notch at Oracle

    Cons

Environment tends to be either highly structured and micromanaged so much that the job becomes unpleasant, or completely unstructured to the point that everything is a moving target.
Meetings! We use to have meetings to determine when our next meeting would be.

    Advice to Management

Job training is downplayed and shouldn't be.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are comparable to other large tech companies. Products are generally high quality though not as well integrated as the marketing would have you believe. Technical support people are generally of high caliber.

    Cons

Account lists are getting smaller, quotas larger, not all Cloud products are fully developed. a great deal of favoritism and micro management with little direction.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the importance (to customers) of consistent and knowledgeable sales reps; and start valuing their contribution with a more equitable and achievable compensation model. Water cooler chatter claims Mark Hurd is trying to ween out senior employees and put more sales burden on partners.

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits for the entire family.

Good pay across all job roles in product, sales, and services.

Lots of acquisitions and other product families to move internally if your division is failing.

    Cons

Poor mid-level executive leadership. CGBU is poorly run with cuts over many quarters.

    Product investments are continually reduced.

Not a good company for entrepreneurs.

    Advice to Management

Oracle is great at buying companies but awful at keeping talent for organic growth.
