I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you're looking for a company that is just a job to make a decent living, this is the place for you. It's not a dynamic environment that fosters innovation or creativity. What they tell you versus what the reality of their company culture is vastly different.

    Cons

Slow to change. Management is very archaic.

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Great if at the right place and right time
    - Pays really-really well, well above average, if at the right place and right time
    - Commercial Cloud SaaS and PaaS does really well, everything else now is just OK.

    Cons

    - Very bad if at the wrong place and wrong time
    - Terribly micro-managed with forecast/pipeline/etc.
    - Tons or processes & legal issues with customers
    - Bureaucracy is not worth it if the money isn't there
    - Doesn't care about Public Sector compliance, be cautious there
    - No Public Sector cloud.
    - Darwinism by design, terrible infighting between divisions, will only get worse.

    Advice to Management

    - Stop the pillars/divisions fighting with one another.
    - Invest in Public Sector
