I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I loved working for the SPARC HW/SW group. Interesting projects, awesome managers and they even let me work remotely.

    Cons

Oracle severely downsized the SPARC HW/SW group recently, so I'm out of a job. Other than that, no downsides.

    Advice to Management

    None.

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Solid company financially, with a stable employment environment. You also get to work with leading edge products.

    Cons

Hard work is not recognized or rewarded. Raises are rare and small. Not the place to work if you want to advance your career. There is little to no regard from mid to upper management for the employees.

    Advice to Management

You have some of the most talented and committed staff in the world. I recommend you learn to value your employees.

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Steady work, if you can keep up with it. Too much work and not enough workers to get it done properly.

    Cons

    No Pay Raises for YEARS
Trying to merge people without reviewing skills.
    Bad.. very bad

I worked at Oracle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Met some really great people and they have excellent benefits.

    Cons

Benefits are very expensive and they end the day you leave!!!

    Advice to Management

Customers are important, but it's your employees that keep the customers happy. Treat your employees with the same respect that you expect to be treated with.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great learning, great people, great environment.

    Cons

No raises, promotions with no pay, cookie cutter management who have to do what they are told from the top / no real "management" latitude.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent Benefits Packet - Nice work environment - Nice shift differentials -
Good work-life balance accommodations - Since ORACLE is an enormous company there are lots of job opportunities in different departments within the organization

    Cons

Salaries are underpaid depending of job title and department - No Cost of life adjustments - No raises - No work incentives - Their hiring process is a joke - Very poorly quality control - Constant increase of responsibilities and workload without adjustment in job title or salary - no employee performance control - very badly structured -

    Advice to Management

There are a lot of things that management should take ownership:
-Recruiters are lying to candidates in order to get them with a low pay rate, like myself and other employees I know, we were promised a review and adjustment after three months of our starting date...never happened
-Employees are being hired without enough skill to actually perform the job
-It is nice to try to match previous salary, like If you worked as doctor assistant and got $20 p/h but don't have technical skills, still going to get $20 even if the job performance is bad. When a technical support experienced employee coming from an actual technical skills required job will get a lower pay rate just because of their previous job salary, and doing a way better job than the non technical employee on the same position.
-There is not control or corrective actions for employees not following job guidelines or ethics
-Managers should be assessing employees in order to avoid loosing the right human assets

I worked at Oracle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Kind co-workers, very relaxed dress code, can do basically whatever you want as long as you take calls.

    Cons

No true knowledge base or training (beyond a couple of outdated videos), level 2 technicians/leads/managers will never answer your questions. Due to the lack of information available in the system, you have little to no way to solve issues and just end up sending people to sales. 85% of my day was spent with angry people screaming at me about how much they hated Oracle. It was considered an accomplishment to close even a handful of tickets a day, let alone under a half hour per call. Management cares more about the number of calls answered than actually solving problems.

    Advice to Management

Provide actual, physical training for employees. Encourage communication between leads/supervisors/level 2 technicians/managers and level 1 employees, especially when offices may not have any of these at their own location. Having a monthly pizza party doesn't excuse basic training/communication/horrific customer AND employee dissatisfaction.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great healthy environment to work, coworkers are friendly and supportive. No micro managing, as long you produce. Benefits are amazing. Best company I have worked so far.

    Cons

In order to submit the review I had to enter something in this section, however I am pretty new at the company and yet don't have any cons to add.
