I have been working at Oracle full-time

    Pros

A good learning place for new graduate. Not so good for senior people.

    Cons

Not good for any hardware engineer since it's not stable and the layoff is inevitable.

    Advice to Management

Don't keep people in the dark.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

smart people, exceptional resources, create your own destiny.. their portfolio is improving through the gobble gobble acquisition strategy ala safra

    Cons

usual bureaucracy that comes with a huge company, and if youre in sales it is rolling the dice for a decent patch. some will enter a territory and be greeted by a fatty legacy renewal with upsale potential while many others (just as talented, hardworking) are stuck with an awful call list with little potential to hit their numbers.

also every year everyone is juggled around and there is little consistency in who youre working with and what the game plan is from fiscal to fiscal.

    lots of turnover

    Advice to Management

    care

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the people are intelligent and self motivated, nice facilities and equipment needed to do my job was readily available

    Cons

Money was below average, no bonuses at all, very little opportunity to advance, never ending rounds of very small layoffs creates a stressful environment, way too dependent on their own software (OVS, open office, Solaris)

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Ability to work from home, if you simply do what you are told you will do fine.

    Cons

No raises and few (if any) promotions. The only way to get more money or a promotion is to leave and get rehired. Top down management.

    Advice to Management

There are a lot of very intelligent people working there. They could really contribute to making the company better if upper management allowed feedback from their staff. Also work on employee retention - everyone has an idea of what others are being paid and it is demoralizing for new hires to make twice as much as existing employees and then asked to train them as your manager.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Training on all Oracle platforms. Lynda.com subscription. Work from home.

    Cons

Account for time spent working during the day even if you have no work to do, must be completing training. Lots of promises that haven't been upheld. Limited or no salary increase. Expensive health insurance plans.

    Advice to Management

Stop buying companies you have no use for and don't understand.
