I worked at Oracle (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The name still carries some weight in the valley
    - WFH flexibility
    - Good place to coast when you are busy with family or ready to retire

    Cons

    - You do not matter as a cog in the Oracle machine until you hit management
    - Bad PR (sales practices, hiring practices, hostile takeover)
    - Entry level analyst pay is atrocious, way too many layer pushing entry level pay down.
Not a good place to start your career
    - High turnover rate (low pay, siloed teams/departments)
    - Outdated internal technology
    - Oracle would rather hire externally than promote internally

    Advice to Management

    - Promote internal knowledge sharing and employee awareness

I have been working at Oracle full-time

    Pros

    HQ nice campus, decent benefits

    Cons

Can get stuck in groups. Learning can slow

    Advice to Management

Move engineers and managers to different groups so people can broaden their skills. Else people leave due to less growth, less learning, less compensation. You hire new people and similar story.

    - Clear out the middle management dead-wood
    - Modernize the software, particularly the look-and-feel

    Pros

Solid well performing company good benefits ok pay

    Cons

Hard to move up. Layoffs pretty frequent. Can be mundane if you aren't working on something market changing

    Advice to Management

Promote from within instead of looking elsewhere.

    Pros

Amazing place to start your career and network

    Cons

Not a good place to stay because the raises for very small and there is tons of structure around getting promoted which makes it very hard to get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Too deep now, no advice will change things. Maybe acquire Salesforce and adopt that so sales reps stop stepping all over each other

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A broad range of job functions and career growth opportunities. Great benefits and flexible work hours and work from home option.

    Cons

It seems that Extroverts tend to get better promotion opportunities. You'll need to promote yourself often, most high tech companies are like this; Oracle isn't worse than others.

    Cons

Management style is like put pressure to extract the last bit of life

More like who can play dirty and get away with it will win
    Will not recommend

    Advice to Management

Please ensure old timers share knowledge to avoid losing people who are motivated but not able to perform due to lack of knowledge sharing by old timers owing to their insecurities
