I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work life flexibility, interesting work, great people. There are a lot of really smart people to learn from and work with - good mentors to help you along the way.

    Cons

Poor benefits - low 401k and ESPP contributions, misleading or fine print on assumed benefits such as tuition reimbursement & FMLA; you have to fight tooth and nail to get what is a supposed benefit.

Zero raises. Zero bonuses. Discretionary stock awards at random. Forced mandatory PTO between Christmas and New Years when average allowance is only 15 days annually.

Constant layoffs - employees are numbers, not people.

Teams are often pitted against each other. Collaboration is difficult and there's often no incentive to work together to streamline processes.

All tools and administrative processes are "self-service" so if everything doesn't work perfectly you're often out of luck.

    Advice to Management

Look at the rest of Silicon Valley and adjust your benefits and your attitude toward employee happiness and long-term retention. Drive for a culture of cohesiveness and collaboration rather than competition and distrust among Oracle teams. People working for you are not numbers; they have lives and families - and they're working to move your business forward. Show a little acknowledgement and appreciation sometimes.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great work from home policy.

    Cons

Huge company, moves really slow typically.

I worked at Oracle (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good 401K matching
    Flexible sick time

    Cons

    They make crappy, rushed products
They buy companies without knowing what they do or what to do with them.

    Advice to Management

Cut your salaries by 50% and give your employees raises and bonuses. You hire, wait for people to burn out, and then hire again.

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Built a solid network while employed there for many years, lot to learn, easy to move around, solid processes

    Cons

Employee morale is low, non acquisition employees are very low paid, company wants you to do more / take on more with no raises or promotions, pay vs. market is not comparable at all, have a "either you like it or don't let the door hit you on the way out attitude," managers are very well versed and helpful but aren't able to help get employees what they need pay wise or promotion wise due to red tape, very political

    Advice to Management

With the bay area market so hot, eventually you will begin to lose even more top performers due to the way that the company treats employees. Extremely low morale. The new generation you are bringing in feel no sense of loyalty and turnover will continue to be high since they will leave and make more $ elsewhere.

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Diversified, growing, cloud based, large customer base. Plenty of opportunities and growth as long as self driven.

    Cons

Non innovative, stagnant, Company is not customer driven but rather driven by Support/Maintenance revenue. Commodity type sales

    Advice to Management

listen to what your customers (much less employees) have to say about the future...

    I worked at Oracle full-time

    Pros

Only pros are for cloud devs who have a snack budget and snacks allotted to them.

    Cons

For a year they kept many good and competent leaders on board and then the layoffs began...

    Advice to Management

    What management? Management was gutted.
