I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Constant change represent opportunity to move around within org.

Opportunity to work and get to know enterprise customers.

People working at the ground level are generally helpful if you are familiar with each of their KPIs.

    Cons

    Incompetent mid management.
    No respect for people.
Even if the deal were assigned by your manage to work on, must make sure you have confirmation from finance, you will get paid before you start working on it( seriously??!!!!)
No one is moving until multiple chases.
No focus on success of the customer. (What happen to those customer who bought on premise. No support at all as everyone KPI is cloud only. Including those supporting function like presales etc)
No consistent strategy to tackle the market.
Manager being hired without proper background check and with no prior industry/solution experience/people management skills.
Multiple cases where commission dispute happened and ppl left oracle because of the dispute.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the incompetent manager. Have a proper background check before you hire some manager who obviously has bad reputation in the market or no people management experience.

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Oracle has potential but seems to have fundamental lack of understanding in managing people. Employee satisfaction level is manipulated and low

    Cons

Oracle is a typical MNC that has no regard for people, and thus creates it's own performance problems. They use the stick to beat people into results.

    Advice to Management

    Get new blood

I have been working at Oracle full-time

    Pros

Working flexibility depends on individual hiring manager. Not a bad environment with extensive office facilities. Not much that I can think of.

    Cons

Quota changes frequently, but no change in package. Working here for 6years, but increment is pathetic. Comm payout is not clear in terms of calculation. Comm payout so far is pathetic given that the quota is high, even if you overachieve by 300%. Appraisals is of useless in the organization as it does not give you any increment or promotion. Internal transfer requires one year in the role, and transfer is not as easy as what they claim to be supportive in such moves. No clarity in career path as they wish that you will just be contented with whatever you have and not ask for any progression. Management is slow in such areas. No motivations in the organization.

    Advice to Management

Value the good employees by rewarding them with what they deserve. Overachievements but no promotion is demotivation.

I worked at Oracle (More than a year)

    Pros

Detailed process, good account support across the company, powerful marketing

    Cons

Difficult, inflexible contracts, poor reputation with customers, difficult targets

    Advice to Management

Better flexibility to allow deals to be done quickly

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Although OFSS is totally not the real "Oracle", you also can write it on your resume. I think it's quite a good experience to do Java development in "Oracle" when you are applying other software development jobs.

    Cons

Low pay, push you to do overtime with no pay, always assign you tasks 10 minutes before you can go back. Almost every month some developers leave this small team, but they don't care, because there is no difference between senior developers' job and juniors'. Manager is rude, the company culture is bad.

    Advice to Management

Unless you double the employer's salary, I don't think anyone who is able to get PR wants to stay in this company.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexibility of working schedule (depends on work nature and supervisor); benefits beat local companies; ease of logging and tracking expenses/leave. Change is the constant and keeps employees on their toes (thus keeping them competitive in the market)

    Cons

Most activities are driven by numbers and quarter-end so longer-term and non-metric based projects can get sidelined. Tons of resources available that require lots of self-study before one can truly hit the ground running; learning curves are generally quite short.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to attrition rate and the type of employees you're losing. This is a very expensive item in terms of lost institution knowledge, past lessons learned, relationships built and new hire training cost and time.

I have been working at Oracle full-time

    Pros

A Sales focus centric. Everyone work to support the sales and you don't often hear the Presales or support staff say no to any sales request.

    Cons

Everyone live by the Qtr. All sales revenue reset after every Qtr end. You could be a hero he last Qtr but not be zero the next Qtr.

    Advice to Management

    Suggest to look longer term
