    I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Oracle is one of the first IT companies in the U.S., therefore, the company is well established already and very stable. The benefits are good and the bonuses/commission is good (for sales people).

    Cons

    The upper management employed and direct supervisors seem to lack experience in handling people. Some direct managers lack the ability to really see the issues that the staff are facing. Management has a hard time listening to the real issues on the ground and just want results. Management doesn't have experience dealing with the market they are handling at all. Went to the market to sell the new product but it is rather half baked since market awareness isn't established yet (not much marketing for the different countries), payment method as well and partners for the different regions are still lost about the new product.

    Pros

    Great learning opportunity with structured onboarding program, training, and e-learning for self-learning. With focus and positive mindset, this is a great place to develop a career especially in digital selling for Cloud Solution.

    Nice office environment. Singapore office also has a Barista, I enjoy a cup of cappuccino in the morning.

    Cons

    Oracle has a self-service culture, the employee needs to drive their own success and self-learn. Don't just depend on your manager to tell you what you need to do. You drive your own success.

    As Oracle is a big organization, it is sometimes hard to really understand the different line of business. The employee needs to be bold to ask for help if they are not sure and need guidance. Generally, colleagues are nice and supportive to help if you ask.

    Advice to Management

    Be more clear to convey the Vision, Mission, and Direction of Oracle so that employee can flow in one direction.

    Part of a giant organization

    No existence in ecosystem,
    Simple queries take weeks
    No focus on employees (off course its a giant)

    Pros

    I can't think much of the pros - seriously, except for the slightly better pay and some nice colleagues.

    Cons

    HR - a bunch of useless people. HR is supposed to retain talents, helping company to nurture the staff with the right skills, competencies and development, but they themselves are playing politics.

    Operation team:
    They are clueless on how to operate and enable the smooth operation for the team. They are still learning and thus, we are suffering. Request information is so hard, come one Oracle, you are DB company, your data should be easily extracted and clean.

    Processes:
    So many red tapes. APAC Business Approvals team doesnt even understand businesses, how can they determine what is right or wrong! They are just a bunch of clueless people without clear business acumen trying to teach you how to manage your business. Thus, they are just wasting your time!

    Advice to Management

    Setup a simplified environment and processes for us to do business if you want to be No.1 in the cloud space.
    Hired local talent with local business understanding instead of a bunch of foreigners who know nothing but just here to MONITOR you. It wont fly.
