    Pros

Owner is very hands on and he is at work full time to encourage and reward his employees

    Cons

Some of the co-workers are your typical salesman and will not have any respect for you

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice for them because they do a wonderful job

I worked at Orange Coast Auto Traders full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The product specialist position allowed you to exercise sales and presentation skills and work with customers on finding specific vehicles that met their needs, without the pressure of having to do the financial work on the numbers.

    Cons

Management frequently changing sales quotas, bonus structures, pay scales, and even dress code. The owner hired sales managers with questionable leadership skills, eventually had to close that branch when a dip in sales could not sustain operations. I was laid off as part of a staff reduction before the branch I worked at closed.

    Advice to Management

Be more careful in selecting sales managers, preferably ones without massive personality issues. Spend more time with in-person coaching, provide more comprehensive vehicle resources instead of never-ending computer-based "certifications".

I worked at Orange Coast Auto Traders full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some outdoors work. Nice on a beautiful day!

    Cons

Too many chiefs! Starting from the top, many employees think they're the boss and behave in a narcisistic, control freak, abusive manner to the lower paid employees. The morality level is very low among the lowest paid hardest working most dedicated employees.

    Advice to Management

Raise ethical standard towards employees and customers. Keep promises of incentive pay to employees. Appreciate the workers in the trenches behind the scenes that make money for the people above them. More respect and less intimidation and verbal abuse towards employees would be nice as well! Quit hiring GM's & GSM's who use intimidation as motivation!

    Pros

They used to pay better than most dealers, If you can read their schedule that they seem to open/close just before payday to try and confuse staff.

    Cons

The owner is obsessive/compulsive. He changes his mind about how the company should be run at the drop of a hat. ZERO stability. Employee purchase discounts depend on how well you're liked. The entire store rewards backstabbing, they learn from the higher-ups who learn form the boss.

    Advice to Management

Hope somebody buys him out before he runs the ship into the ground. Would he be able to successfully build the place like his father did?, NO. Daddy has bailed him out on 3 seperate occasions already. When attending Manufacturer meetings and people are talking about "the mouth" it's him.
