I have been working at Orange full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good, highly-skilled people to work with. A large culturally-diverse company that offers numerous opportunities to improve your skills and grow your career. Successful employees can move within the company, and gain international experience.

    Cons

Orange is an international business, but is very Euro-centric when it comes to management and product development. Global decisions with local impact in the regions are often made with limited understanding of need of, and impact on, local markets. Who you know can be more important than what you do, or have done.

    Advice to Management

Engage more effectively with, and listen to, mid-management in the international community. Be prepared to take some risk, and invest outside of Europe. Rather than just "talking global", Orange needs to go back to "acting global".

    Pros

Large Company, latest technology, global reach and opportunities. A great company to work for if you are starting your career.

    Cons

Being large has it's downsides. Orange Business Services is a subsidiary of France Telecom, a large, bloated, publicly-owned utility with very little flexibility and rigid business practices.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees better than you currently do. Make management decisions based upon not just financial considerations. Improve your internal intranet - it is rubbish.
