I have been working at Orange full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, about a month off a year, health benefits are still generous, as are 401k

    Cons

There are two Orange's, the French employees and everyone else. Right now the business is going through a transition and layoffs and buyouts have been happening a lot for the past few years. Older workforce, , and not much incentive to change that.

    Advice to Management

Try to hire younger employees, and do things that would actually keep them. As one of about 10 under 30 employees brought on about 6yrs ago, only three of us are left. This is partly due to management, compensation, and work environment.

I worked at Orange full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, especially paid-time off. Flexible teleworking policy. Work can extend to any region of the world which makes many of the jobs very interesting.

    Cons

Decision-making is quite slow as many decisions are made via the HQ in France. Career paths are not well defined and advancement is not easy.

I worked at Orange full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

the work environment was very relaxed, meeting a lot of great people to work with. Management i good too, except for HR - very lost, slows everything down and are not cut out for the job. Salary is pretty good

    Cons

Moral can be low at times and can be overwhelming. CEO focuses a lot of what others think (corporate in France) however he is very smart and has a focus.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of HR and do more things to genuinely boost moral of the team. There is a lot of room here.

I have been working at Orange full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, creative approach to services, very good benefits and vacation policy, truly global capabilities that are difficult to match in the industry.

    Cons

The French bureaucracy can stifle innovation and creativity, sometimes can be difficult to work at the pace of US companies and expectations for new ways of doing business.

    Advice to Management

    Think global but act local

I have been working at Orange full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Many client facing roles, wonderful balance of work-home, great flexibility to telecommute, outstanding collaboration with global teams and amazing exposure with global clients, strong technology portfolio exposure, monthly mobile phone compensation

    Cons

Benefits got expensive over last year, little chance for promotion outside of NYC and Atlanta, training budget reduced greatly over last few years

    Advice to Management

Invest in employees for training, build a mentorship program and continue to communicate openly on the next steps for the organization

    Pros

Brilliant, feel at home environment. A great place for women especially

    Cons

Politics can get bad. Rest is like any other company. Mostly a good place to work

    Advice to Management

Try to clear out politics and promote team activities. Also try promoting involvement from associate level employees as well

    Pros

Working in Orange has the prestige of an international, market leading, innovative, fast moving organization. Products are usually first to market, research subjects are always forward looking and very relevant.

    Cons

This is a conglomerate. Things done at the corporate / group level are slow to propagate to the country opcos. Cultural differences may favor lowest common denominator decisions.

    Advice to Management

Streamline research to product impact. Engage more local teams with international research and innovation. But, keep investing in research and innovation as this is pulling everyone up.
