    Pros

    Cons

Worst Management in History in call center. If the customers are not fighting with u on the phone The Management in the call center are trying to back stab constantly on the direction of the call center Director and manager-no people skills in the least which is funny because its customer service. And during any hurricane or natural disaster they make you short of death to get on horrible unpassable rodes to get there to answer phone calls about outage restore times that 9 ou of 10 times wrong

    Advice to Management

Get one that encourages there staff to excel and not beat you up. 9 years was like 90 and every day felt like 16 hours

    Pros

I would like to highlight a few points:
Time flexibility, great work culture, friendly employees, good stipend and balanced work load, motivation for work, opportunities to express your ideas freely.

    Cons

The company lacks a good cafeteria with a variety of cuisines, intern program lacks proper structure of work to be assigned to an intern, work can be too slow at times.

I have been working at Orange & Rockland Utilities full-time

    Pros

    Convenient, close to home
    Decent pay

    Cons

Not many promotional opportunities if you do not have higher-secondary education regardless if you have been in the company for with many years worth of experience. Lack of diversity. Very old-school mentality.

    Advice to Management

Liven it up a bit. Hire more people from different walks of life to bring fresh ideas and perspectives.

    Pros

Stable Industry and good compensation. The president openly discusses where the company is going. The business is changing which may lead to more career options.

    Cons

Not the best place to work especially for minorities. You will get the job as a minority for one no one wants. Little to no opportunities for career advancement and minorities are negatively labeled and privately laughed at. They strategize to keep you put. The president seems fair; however, the rest of upper management is a big problem. The company is too small and any talks on improvement in diversity is Lip service.

    Advice to Management

    Change out your VPs

I worked at Orange & Rockland Utilities as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Convenient location and higher wages for non-professional workers

    Cons

Weak union---no powerful representation, non-essential employees are required to travel to work during dangerous weather conditions---if you have children tough luck!

    Advice to Management

You need to be concerned about your employees' safety---as an engineer we have to be concerned for ourselves and the safety of others---practice what you preach!!!!!

    Pros

None they treat there employees like crap. They discipline for every minor infraction to the highest degree as if you burned the place down.

    Cons

They don't even follow there own protocol concerning levels of progressive discipline when someone makes a mistake.

    Advice to Management

Learn to view your employees as people. People who actually do the work thereby giving you your job to supervise.
