Pros

The company overall is a great company to work for. I love the hybrid system in which employees gave input for (Currently Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Everyone at the company is very helpful and collaborative. Management creates a healthy work environment and they take into account work-life balance. The drive, motivation and positive outlook of the employees make it easy to come to work each day. Finally, the company acknowledges employees' contributions and hard work.

Cons

Not much cons, only con I would have to say is the current economic circumstances that has made it difficult for companies in the real estate industry, let alone a startup. Due to the circumstances there has been significant layoffs and down-sizing.

Pros

The people. The people at Orchard are its number one asset. There's nothing we can't accomplish with our team of incredibly smart, practical, low ego, and customer-driven people. The mission. I truly believe that we are doing something very special here that no one else is going. Buying before you sell and having a guaranteed offer in your pocket are to amazing propositions that only Orchard can offer. I've found myself wanting to use our own services when I bought my own home, but we don't operate in NYC :( ...Yet >:)

Cons

Recently, it seems that our business is very dependent on home transaction volume. When interest rates are high and inventory is low, we don't get enough volume and don't make enough money. I wish we could do more to so that we're not as affected by market conditions.

Pros

The transparency Orchard shares with their employees is beyond anything I have seen. The Senior management is incredibly open and available to everyone. They care about every single person that works for Orchard on a level that I have not experienced and this trickle downs to all the teams I interact with. We are doing real estate so differently and the passion that is behind it is just incredible. The enthusiasm, knowledge and commitment we give to our clients is met just the same. Really an incredible organization.

Cons

Pay could be a little more; more bonus or incentives but the flexibility is more important with my time for family.

After the 2nd round of layoffs the CEO assured us that there would be no more layoffs. Then, we get the email to attend a zoom meeting the next day about company changes. Worked until 11am the next day and jumped on the zoom. More LAYOFFS!!! No advance notice, poor and heavily taxed severance package. Those of us that took on more responsibilities and carried the company through the first two rounds of layoffs , were thrown out to the wolves. They said that tenure, performance, etc..were the deciding factors in who was laid off, which is BS! It seems to have been a popularity contest. Those that were the managers favorites kept their jobs, despite performance and tenure. The CEO mislead us and now here we are. Jobless and trying to survive!

Pros

- Work life balance is encouraged by most managers. - Employees are generally very nice - Good benefits

Cons

- No stability, three rounds of layoffs within my 8 months there all with less than a few hours notice. - Severance package is only 1 month pay, less than tech standard. - Leadership has lost the trust of its employees.

Pros

I've worked at several different companies and out of all of them, the projects I work on here have been the most instrumental to my personal growth. The people at Orchard are also one of a kind and leadership is very low-ego and approachable which is also something I have not seen before. I would highly recommend working at Orchard.

Cons

I think right now working in the real estate space is a difficult climate, but I have found this has only introduced more interesting problems to solve and I have learned so much about the space as well.

I've never been at a company where the executive team takes feedback and is transparent like Orchard. I appreciate that they have been able to make difficult decisions for the business, so that we can all continue to solve the problems we came here to solve.

The real estate industry overall is difficult right now, but I appreciate that Orchard is making decisions so that we can weather the storm.
