      Pros

      - Flexible Scheduling - Coworkers are friendly and hardworking - Free coffee - Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas - 20% employee discount stacks with sales/coupons

      Cons

      - Low/inconsistent pay (after working here 2 years, I am making less than the new hires. Also raise given the week before minimum wage hike to avoid paying me more) - Low, low, low hours for part timers (8 hrs a week is normal and hours almost never go past 25. Average hours won't pass 18 weekly) - Management is very closed-minded about store needs (often departments are not even staffed at all, causing sales to be lost) - Management avoids leaving the office and will not help staff on the floor/ will act annoyed when asked for help/pay stubs etc. - Often one employee will be expected to cover up to 5 departments AND do heavy lifting, regardless of age and without extra compensation - Promotions to other departments don't come with pay raise, only promotion to management positions come with a raise regardless of the amount of extra work taken on - Employees are rewarded for avoiding their job duties to do other tasks - No real room for advancement

      Pros

hours are surprisingly flexible store doesn't close too late some of the customers/coworkers are nice and one can learn a lot from them

      Cons

no training whatsoever; you're LUCKY to get any otherwise you'd better have good ESP, be psychic or learn what you can on your own time... not quite what one wants to do for minimum wage odd assessment of employee abilities constant phone calls especially if working pick-up area either nothing to do trying to look busy so I don't get yelled at for "doing nothing" or an impossible workload; no happy medium there some managers are super nice others are snarky, pushy and condescending finding stuff in the warehouse/pickup area is a pain cleaning the bathrooms/breakroom understaffed as can be of course; sometimes there's only 2 people on the floor in the whole entire store closing duties are a real pain employee discount rather redundant since everything here is ridiculously expensive anyways

      Poor Management

      Pros

Access to good employee discounts to products storewide. 20% on top of sales items as well. Working Hours were not bad, never working later than 10PM.

      Cons

I started as a Sales Associate and the pay was minimum wage. I was told I would have a review after three months and would receive a raise. I never received a review or raise, even after asking the management multiple times. I don't know if this was just at the location I worked or not, but the management was terrible. Very lazy and unmotivated individuals that literally drove me to quitting this job. Poor training.

      Pros

Older guys in the departments often know A LOT. Fun to learn from them on the job and hear their stories as you work.

      Cons

Minimum wage. Morale at the store I worked at went downhill over time as I worked there.

      Pros

Nice employee discount, nice quality merchandise Sakes floor people were great

      Cons

Hire only part time and pay minimum wage. Raises are yearly and in most cases less than a dollar. Extreme favoritism displayed by management. Hard work is not recognized or rewarded. Department Leads are overwork, yet minimal coverage on sales floor

      Pros

Managers willing to work around your school schedule. Co-workers are all awesome and hard-working; I’ve only met one or two I genuinely dislike.

      Cons

Pressure employees to make sales as if they were being paid commission (they aren’t). Managers often threaten to fire or write-up employees who do not get sign-ups for the reward program. Sales associates, not just cashiers, are pushed to pester customers while they are shopping to join the stupid “club-orchard”. Raises are performance-based and are a maximum of $0.30 a year. This means nothing, by the way, if the federal minimum increases. If you get a $0.20 raise and minimum wage goes up a dollar, you don’t keep the extra $0.20. There’s no motivation to work for a good raise. Little to no sick pay. We get a maximum of 3 days per year, and is accumulated by working 30 hours per 1 hour of sick pay. Everything is ridiculously overpriced, and they have done away with weekly sales and advertising, which is a jip for the customer and the employee alike. Little to no training. They expect us to give excellent advice to customers without helping us learn about products. Expect to feel stupid and frustrate customers because you don’t know the answer to a question. Or do what I did and spend your own time and money taking classes at school (I took horticulture since I work nursery) so you don’t look like a minimum wage idiot. Department leads are shifted around and cannot be demoted without serious cause, meaning they are often just as unkowledgeable or even more so than their part-timers. Some extremely rude customers, though that really comes with any service job.

Minimum wage gets you what you pay for.

      Pros

Not much to say here. It's a job. During the summer months they used to give plenty of hours. Very little secondary expectations if you're the type that's afraid of a little work.

      Cons

Minimum wage. Worst corporate morale I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. Absolutely zero opportunity for advancement. They'll try to work you over if you're not familiar with employment laws.
