    Cons

It is a struggle working part-time and doing full-time graduate work.

Better outreach and financial provision to non-traditional families who have a heavy life outside of school.

I have been working at Oregon Institute of Technology part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule and nice people to work with. Very casual.

    Cons

Bureaucracy at the higher levels make it impossible to work on projects to benefit the student body of the college. Position is for working student so is only paid minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

Prioritize the students (your customers) and identify the administration that prevents serving your customers the best way they can. This prevents growth of the college.

    Pros

Teaches you a lot and builds resume skills. Rewarding feeling of helping others.

    Cons

Several changes in management made it difficult at times. Management tends to play favorites and doesn't hold all of their employees to the same standards.

I have been working at Oregon Institute of Technology full-time

    Pros

First college in the world to go grid neutral by using solar and geothermal power. Oregon Tech endows students with conventional and cutting edge hands-on electrical engineering skills in microcontrollers, power electronics, hardware, and software dessign.

    Cons

A high level of engineering students at this school transfer to easier majors and degrees after their first year.

    Advice to Management

The new president will provide great leadership at this pivotal moment in the school's development. Programs could benefit from stabilizing instead of changing degree requirements every single year.

    Pros

All of my experiences with this job so far have been great.

    Cons

Payment is monthly, which can be a bit long to wait for a student, but that's not really a big deal imo.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Oregon Institute of Technology part-time

    Pros

Oregon Tech has the best location for serving students residing in the Portland Metro area. The pay for a student working on campus will range from minimum to about $15 an hour. It's not amazing, but it will help you pay for school while you attend. The staff is great about fitting in school work with your schedule. Go here if you want to major in EE, REE, MIS or CLS, as these are the institution's flagship majors.

    Cons

Poor administration and lack of school spirit. I'm left feeling as if the University's presence in Wilsonville is far too small. Its Computer Science/Engineering department is lacking in practical opportunities for students to take advantage of and it may end up closing.

    Advice to Management

Excellent staff, poor marketing and little future planning don't mix well with underfunding.

I have been working at Oregon Institute of Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Great Work Life Balance (Fishbowl)
    2. Awesome Benefits ~ Free room and board
    3. Flexible meeting schedule
    4. Free food all the time.
    5. Staff retreat is normally fun!

    Cons

    1. Meetings get old
    2. Dealing with mean residents sucks.
    3. Always on call is hard.
    4. Hard to get a break sometimes.
    5. IRs always happen at the worst times possible.
    6. Haunted House is a tough one.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing a good job of putting the needs of others in front of our own. That is by far the hardest part to learn and to do well at. Also keep up with the cookies and punch at the meetings!
