    Pros

Good environment of talented and friendly people.

    Cons

Like most agencies the hours can be difficult at times. Plenty of late nights prior to pitches and presentations.

    Pros

Great culture and people are talented and nice
Time off and work life balance is awesome. I felt like they really cared about the staff

    Cons

The work is mundane and unappealing. Although temporary with location sucks. I left to work on more exciting stuff. They need better accounts rather than crumbs from the parent agency

    Advice to Management

Culture & talent good...accounts bad! It sucks working for BBDO

    Pros

    Great people. Great culture.

    Cons

They promise more than they can deliver to new clients in new business pitches.

    Advice to Management

Don't promise more than you can deliver. It always backfires and the company winds up looking foolish and immature.

    Fair Pay
    Strong Leadership
    Great work life balance
Feels like a family rather than a company

    Cons

Identity of the company feels a little confusing at times
Can feel a little disjointed when working across the network

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, we've gotten back the strong energy from years ago. Keep winning work and looking to grow the business.

I have been working at Organic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The pay is fair.
The random bagels and beer stuff like all agencies.
    Friendly people.
Pro for me that the office is closer to where I live and not downtown.
Management and leadership are friendly and open.
    Comfy chairs.
    Flexible work schedule.
    Summer Fridays.
Lots of patience for parents with kids.
    Fair amount of PTO.
    Did I mention friendly people?

    Cons

I could see how some people would think the work is boring.
Promotions and raises are hard to come by, but, well...that's like every agency in town.
We answer to the NYC office, but I don't see them very much.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. I love Organic. True story.

"Good agency but seemed to be slipping in engineering"

I worked at Organic (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good culture
    Good collaboration with creatives
Excellent when they would do Camp Organic
Taught a great amount about company empathy
Allows you to try and learn new things

    Cons

Seemed to not be as strong technically as they once were
Not sure they are getting the best clients and more and the strength of them financially
Can be difficult to get promoted - I needed to leave to move up

    Advice to Management

Focus on career management more. Allow people to move up and make sure to continually pay at market rate

    Pros

This review is mainly about the Detroit office and upper management in NYC. Pros: summer fridays are great, the on-the-ground employees in Detroit are fantastic - hard workers and not an ego in the bunch. They have the usual bagel day and beer Fridays (like every ad agency out there)

    Cons

They give zero raises or bonuses. Not even the standard 2% bump despite all the employees working their bums off and glowing reviews (in DET anyway) and bonuses from clients. We all know the bonuses all go to upper management.

DET is not properly staffed. Most people wear multiple hats. There are 2 reasons for this - Organic is cheap and there is a basic ignorance from upper management on what it really takes to staff up properly.

Top management in NYC is a boys' club despite a decent mix at the worker bee level. They treat DET with disrespect. Yet this is the office lining their pockets with bonuses.

The CCO is a joke - the Organic website hasn't been updated in 2 years - because all of the decent work comes out of DET and he won't acknowledge it. He never returns emails or phone calls - and his personal website is him as baby Jesus! No work, no resume, nothing.

The head account guy at the DET office has only worked at Organic and thus risen to his level of incompentancy. His business lingo and account guy jargon are enough to make your head spin - just try having a 5 min convo with him. You'll have no idea what the meeting was actually about. He has no idea how to make an office great and gives way too much power to the office manager (who vetos things like she's part of the executive team).

The DET office is in a laughable work space. While NY and SF sit in posh buildings in their respective downtown locations - DET sits in a dilapidated office building in the burbs. It's well known talent won't even interview here because of the location - why would you when there are better shops in amazing custom spaces downtown?

Delivery (aka project management) is king and have zero clue about the creative process. Organic puts too much weigh on "the grid" which delivery is in charge of yet it's never right. Thus people get bounced around to different projects like hot potatoes with too time spent getting new people up to speed.

    Advice to Management

Reward your people with money. Bagels and beer only go so far.

Get rid of the grid and train Delivery on the creative process so they truly understand the process.

Move the DET office out of that awful building

Update the website. There's fantastic work that's not being showcased - You're digital shop for crying out loud. Where do you think perspective clients go first when checking out a new shop?

CTL+ALT+DEL upper management to people who actually care about the work and not just about lining their pockets - sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

I worked at Organic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

^ free bagel once a week
    ^ a free beer once a week
^ summer fridays/week off between christmas and new year
^ really good people at the agency, some who I hope to work with again
^ $10 starbucks gift card and an organic moleskin for work anniversaries

    Cons

I left the agency recently because I lost faith and trust in the senior leadership team. it became impossible to be happy or optimistic about the future there.

I didn't feel my career was going anywhere, I lacked confidence in the account I was working on, I wasn't going to see a promotion, raise or bonus. And I didn't trust my new boss was capable of helping to develop my growth. My team was what made me stay there as long as I did.

The people are some of the nicest, smartest, funniest people I've met. I feel bad for them because they're so much better than this and deserve more. I wish their bosses would provide better support or help the senior leadership team to understand and care.

    Advice to Management

What does real change look like? The executive senior leadership team needs to start by reinvesting in the agency teams in real ways that matter.
