I have been working at Organic full-time

    Pros

A strong heritage in the digital space. Even after all these years, it was rewarding to find that the agency is still well regarded by peer group agencies and clients locally. Strong spirit of collaboration between the teams, and the other Omnicom agencies. There is visibly a lot of effort going into starting to build agency culture.

    Cons

Variety is currently lacking in the work, but I can see that this is changing. As with most networked agencies ensuring healthy profitability comes first, which can sometime be stifling but makes sense.

    Advice to Management

With core client business now stable, keep focussing on new business. Continue to bring back some of the pioneering spirit and values that made Organic the place to be a few years back and you will see AdAge 'Come back agency' soon enough.

    Pros

I met some friendly people here. They have a nice office shared with OMD/BBDO in a good location. Culture is alright. Working here was a little lackluster. If your an associate or junior, it would be good to show you have agency experience.

    Cons

I noticed that a lot of people leave on their own accord or are let go... a very political place to be. If you're favored by the execs, your job will be more secure. This place was very cliquey and frat-like. A boys club going on. You could do better. I used to think Organic was a good agency to work at, but not anymore.

    Advice to Management

Hire talented, collaborative, and a diverse set of people versus keeping folks you personally favor. Work on retainment, employee satisfaction and morale.

I worked at Organic full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people who find themselves at the clutches of Organic are amazing and very talented individuals. They're inspiring and among the smartest and creative that I've ever had the pleasure of working with. HOWEVER, you can tell that their art and creativity suffers greatly from the terrible work that is handed to them. I've never worked with better people in my life and am happy to say that most of them will continue to be friends. If not for the people of Organic, there would be close to no redeeming qualities about the place.

    Cons

Organic has potential but fails on many levels, particularly with their leadership. The CCO is what one would call a bit of a sexist pig and the overall leadership staff is certainly a boy's club. Overall, it was unclear to ever know what Organic's creative mission ever was because it appeared that they were mostly just trying to stay afloat with whatever work they could get. The projects were terrible in that it was obvious that Account was grasping at whatever project they could get their hands on.

Also, if you're a freelancer at Organic, be prepared for have close to no justice.

    I worked at Organic full-time

    Pros

    - Good camaraderie among members in the creative and developer teams.
    - Managers took notice if you did good work.
    - Work schedules seemed fairly reasonable (by ad agency standards).

    Cons

While some of the clients were well known brands, the work might not have been the most exciting or interesting. Though the creative directors usually tried to salvage that by doing something interesting with what is given. Career advancement felt sporadic there. People seem to advance quickly or not able to advance at all.

    Advice to Management

Room for lateral advancement or learning would be nice. A clearer path for available advancements would be nice as well.

I have been working at Organic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people and the remnants of the first dot com perks are nice. Only thing missing is foosball. Also, the location can't be beat.

    Cons

Always talking about new work and projects that would reinvigorate the company, but the reality is that their business model doesn't work anymore. Too small to be cost effective, too big to be nimble.

    Advice to Management

Time to hire some new management! Current management team don't actually know how the sausage gets made, so they are ineffective in managing projects. The era of working employees into the ground is over. Clients are bringing all this work in house and snap up anyone who is effective and tired of Organic.
