    I worked at Orient-Express Hotels full-time

    Pros

Fantastic products in amazing places all over the world. Colleagues were generally a great team and very dedicated to looking after the clients.

    Cons

Salaries are at the low end of the industry and there was limited opportunity for advancement. Company was under so much financial pressure (from the very top, at HQ in London) that every business decision came down to cost.

    Advice to Management

There is a new CEO and there are some changes on the Board of Directors. For the sake of all involved, they need to shake things up.

I worked at Orient-Express Hotels (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ability to travel for free and stay at hotels that were part of their collection - got at least two holidays off each year, which is nice considering its the hospitality industry.

    Cons

Long hours, during busy season you would rarely leave your desk because the phone and email box was never-ending. Worked weekends as well.

    Advice to Management

Not sure there's anything management can do to change it. Overall, the experience was good, just be sure you want to be talking on the phone all day because that is essentially what this job is.

    Pros

Great company with amazing unique properties around the world with fair benefits, competitive pay and interesting co-workers and exceptional experience.

    Cons

Although it has a massive name and brand values the training and senior positions are stagnated with last century features. Lack of effective training and natural leaders.

    Pros

It is rather a collection of hotels than a hotel chain. This gives you some space for creativity.

    Cons

Not working as a corporate hotel chain as yet, but in full development. Do not look for standardized procedures, there are none.

    Advice to Management

They are on the right path...
