"Very high turnover and a lot of bureaucracy"

    Pros

Nice building in Woodcliff Lake, many colleagues are experienced and smart.
If someone is underperforming they often (not always) try to give the person another chance rather than firing immediately.
Year end parties are good. Good events and celebrations around Diwali and other Indian holidays.

    Cons

Very high turnover and for a good reason... There is a lots of pressure and the culture of dealing with emergencies and band aid type solutions rather than planning ahead. At the same time there are no rewards, no promotions, no salary raises, no bonuses, no acknowledgement and no appreciation no matter how hard someone works (with very rare exceptions perhaps). Tremendous bureaucracy with lots of approvals required for every little thing.

    Advice to Management

Year after year people write on glass door that management needs to treat employees as an asset but all these words about "Orion Family" are just words. There are swarms of "managers" but no real performance reviews, HR is asleep and nothing changes year after year

I worked at Orion Systems Integrators full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary on time. You get to learn how to play politics.

    Cons

Horrible company to work for. I was asked and forced to put put good review about the company, so all the good reviews on the glass door are basically from the core team.
You know you will start your day at 9-9:30 am
( after 9:30 office cordinator will mark your name in red color, just like in elementary school) but you have no clue what time you would go home. Lunch time is a joke, I was asked to sit at desk and eat so I can utilize my time.

Project Management- Ha Ha Ha. Any one who is relative or friend for Big boss , gets this title.

Turnover is very high in this company.

Their motto is focus on delivery and not in Quality.

You will be forced to work weekends, early morning meeting at 6 or 7 and same day late night calls from 11:30 to 1:00 am. If you are close to production, you might as well stay in the office for couple of weeks.

TPM, has right to boss you, humiliate you, embarrass you since he knows the code is worse, no real experience from past, and he is a boss boy so he can get you fired.

    I can write a book..

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees as asset.
