I have been working at Orlando Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Administration is usually very responsive to staff concerns. Environment truly is patient first and nursing ratios are appropriate. I love that charts are 98% electronic.

    Cons

Quality of management differs amongst different floors. Pay could be better but the clinical ladder ensures a raise if you engage in certain quality improvement projects, preceptorship, charge nurse, etc.

I have been working at Orlando Regional Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A great sense of community. Plenty of in house opportunities for transfer.

    Cons

Physician oriented. Unqualified management that shows favoritism among employees. Employees are very replaceable.

    Advice to Management

To trust your employees/treat them equally. It is very hard to work for someone you feel you cannot trust or approach about any issues.

I worked at Orlando Regional Medical Center full-time

    Pros

This was one of the best jobs I ever had. Being that they are a teaching hospital there were so many opportunities to learn so much. The employees are like family. They appreciate their employees and offer not only education but extras many employers don't. They care about their patients and community. The only reason I left was because I moved and got married.

    Cons

There used to be an issue with parking but that may have changed by now.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have any advice to give. Just gratitude for having the opportunity to be a part of a great team.
