I have been working at Osceola Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Room for growth exist. Managers and Administration is accessible.

    Cons

Salary is not as competitive. Staffing ratio is not consistent,. Sometimes Staffing is by number and not acuity which adds stress to the workplace.

    Advice to Management

Staff ratio and salary are two major areas that needs addressing.

I have been working at Osceola Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good people. Not as hectic as other facilities. Few of the upper management personnel are very good and sincere in wanting to help you..

    Cons

Leadership is a major problem. There is some big issues in middle management that allows some staff to get away with murder so to speak...

    Advice to Management

Need to really listen to the staff to find issues. Some of the loudest complainers are actually the ones causing the problems to begin with....

    Cons

We never have a permanent OR manager or OR director. They come and go!

    Advice to Management

They should hire people with high expectations and organizational skills!

    Cons

    Pros

Good agency pay. Really nice patients

    Cons

Disorganized and chaotic huge risk for rn license
Nice charge nurses but rude staff rn and DRs

    Advice to Management

It might be helpful to adopt a "we care" attitude collectively. I feel good managers to tainted by the bad ones and hospital is only as strong as its weakest employee!

    Pros

Good co-workers, great learning experience. I learned skills that will serve me for the rest of my career.

    Cons

Unorganized and constantly chaotic. Always understaffed or short-handed. The bottom-line always trumps employee needs or patient needs.

    Pros

it is hard to get fired from this company. unless you did something that they found to be illegal or immoral then they will go after you with full force.

we now have a union for the last 5 years

    Cons

the PCU/IMCU unit is very unorganized. We are always short of staff. since Feb. 2105 we have been approved for 4 patient to one nurse but we are still getting 5 patients. the workload Is very heavy and the patients are getting more and more critical.

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees, work with them and see how we all can meet in the middle.

I worked at Osceola Regional Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Location and commute was ok. Coworker was great. No micromanaging.

    Cons

Disorganized. Chaotic. Lack or professionalism. It wasn't a very clean environment. Management from HR to departmental was very out of touch. They ignored staff concerns and mostly cold. No interest in creating a work culture and team environment. There are favorites and rules change as they go.

    Advice to Management

Look at your staff, think of how you treat them. Be professional. Be kind show some caring toward your staff. Don't just treat them like bodies filling a spot. The turnover and lack of satisfaction among employees is sad. When just under 10
people leave in a department in a few months something is WRONG. It's just a shame.
