    Pros

Pay, insurance, work pace, safety awareness, and Union.

    Cons

Management seems disorganized and more often than not uneducated

    Advice to Management

When told about an issue management should be able to face and fix the issue, it seems that its more common to try to forget the issue or pass it on to someone else.

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation full-time

    Pros

The work is challenging and is team oriented. Management can be demanding, but allows employees to take ownership and initiative to succeed. Sometimes feels a bit directionless, but that provides opportunities for team oriented employees to step up and take the lead. Co-workers are great and helpful.
Management in my division is very team positive, open to personal initiative, encourages ideas, innovation and have high company values.
If you are a team player, come in everyday committed to do your best, be supportive and understand that company shortcomings are opportunities to your career, then you'll find this a great place.

    Cons

Can be demanding and stressful for both managers and employees (which is why many comment on manager demands). Can sometimes require long hours for salaried employees. Can often seem one person short of a full team (or there's not enough hours in the day to finish tasks).

    Advice to Management

Consider more company news and accomplishment sharing with employees. More empathy with union employees might go a long way. Overall, management is very good, but the energy does not seem to flow down as well as could be.

    Pros

Oshkosh is a great place to work if you are committed and work hard. There is not a lot of politics and people are focused on results. It's easy to have pride in the product.

    Cons

I wouldn't say there are a lot of cons. The office environment is dated and is probably the biggest area for improvement.

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Oshkosh does a lot for the intern program, letting the interns ride in a few of the trucks, having a CEO/Executive lunch for people to chat with some of the higher up members of the company, and other fun activities. As far as the work goes, it seems like Oshkosh does a great job of keeping the interns busy with meaningful work. You won't be stuck doing trivial tasks such as getting people coffee or making copies all day. More than likely, you'll be working on a real project that will eventually go on a truck or help with the testing of a truck.

    Cons

One "con" would be coming into the company with the mindset of "I want to work on the JLTV," or any defense truck for that matter. I'd recommend learning about all of the products Oshkosh Corporation produces, because the non-defense trucks are extremely cool to work with.
