    Pros

Enthusiastic coworkers, cutting edge technology, you get to work on actual vehicles that you played with as toys as a child (dump trucks, fire engines, military vehicles, etc), very open culture - easy to approach upper management.

    Cons

Location, location, location - Oshkosh and the surrounding area is very rural. Upper management may expect workers to work 50+ hours as a 'standard' week. Some improvement in communication would go a long way.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the mid-level managers and take their feedback into account, or lend it more credence. Overall this was a very enjoyable 4 years of employment. Also, maybe open up some offices that are in more exotic locations!

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There's a reason we say "Welcome to the Oshkosh Family" when team members join the company. It's truly a family. I've been here nearly three years and couldn't imagine working anywhere else. We have great workplace flexibility! I was able to make all baby appointments with my wife during her pregnancy. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer in the community. I also appreciate the commitment to my professional development. We choose a broad range of courses in Your Oshkosh University to continue developing our skills.

    Cons

I have nothing negative to say.

    Advice to Management

Keep being transparent and pushing our people first culture.

People first culture, work life balance, benefits, learning opportunities, networking and professional development.

    Cons

The commute can sometimes be a drag. Parking is somewhat limited, depending on what area you are working at.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the positive change! The company really is headed in the right direction!

    Pros

Great culture, management focus on people first. Incredible products which are differentiators in the marketplace. Employees can take pride in the quality and craftsmanship produced on a daily basis at Oshkosh Corporation.

    Cons

As with any company, nothing is perfect, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons by a large margin. Health benefits could be a little better but probably are the best among manufacturing peers.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to focus on your people. There are a lot of talented employees working at Oshkosh ready to help make a difference every day.

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Enthusiasm and excitement over products and the people who help build them
    - Opportunity to deliver meaningful results
    - Room for growth
    - Fair compensation - pay for performance
    - Competitive benefits
    - Historical - 100 year anniversary this year
    - Focus on Continuous Improvement
    - Process minded

    Cons

    - Heavy focus on the newer, younger generation - folks who have been here for a while can also provide great insight and knowledge to why something was done a certain way, or how we handled certain issues in the past. Keeping a competitive and younger workforce is important to ensure succession planning and sustainability, but also be sure to leverage the knowledge you have here already.

    Advice to Management

    - Continue to reflect on truly being people first - hold yourselves accountable first, and ensure you're expecting the same from your next levels down - and cascade that expectation.

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - With a new CEO we've seen the culture change around Oshkosh Corporation tremendously. We are now truly People First.
    - Now practicing work place flexibility year-round, not just "summer hours"
    - Leadership (in my department) is really focused on hearing what we have to say rather than solely taking on their own ideas
    - I feel valued and that I'm making a difference within the organization
    - Vast amount of community involvement and volunteer opportunities

    Cons

    - Some managers/directors are still "adjusting" to work place flexibility and the culture change

    Advice to Management

    - This company is growing in such a positive way that we don't need negativity holding us back. If you're not changing with the culture, it might be time to move on.

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation full-time

    Pros

Working for an organization that truly makes a difference in our customers lives and feeling the Oshkosh pride no matter what function/segment you support
A CEO that not only preaches a people first culture but displays it and cascades that style of leadership enterprise wide
Pay is very competitive and benefits are above average
Flexibility as it relates to work/life balance is strong
Opportunities that allow for professional growth through either job advancements or educational workshops you can sign up for that is company paid

    Cons

With there being several segments and so many key stakeholders, voice of customer has to be heard from all areas and this can make it hard to move projects along and things can get dragged out longer than needed

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to your employees voice
