    Pros

    pay, benefits, overtime, other employees,

    Cons

the upper level management has too big of a disconnect between themselves and the actual production floor, yet they are down there all the time giving tours.

    Advice to Management

treat the employees better. do not treat them like children, or they will act like it. also don't hire someone before they have finished college for a management position. spend some money on experience.

I worked at Oshkosh Corporation full-time

    Pros

    Pays well
    Good amount of PTO

    Cons

    Ignorant management
    Shortsighted goal planning.
    Untrustworthy
    Dishonorable
Values a 4-year degree over aptitude, actual product knowledge and real-world experience. They prefer to train someone with any degree, no matter how unrelated to the position, to hopefully become proficient.

    Advice to Management

When you make a plan and set a goal, be intelligent enough to staff to realistic levels and train employees to fulfill requirements. Cobbling unknown and unexpected variables and problems together without a reasonable plan always ends in the same failed outcomes.

The company builds trucks for the military that saves lives. In addition Oshkosh builds fire trucks and snow plows. All of the trucks are the best.

    Cons

The company does not have current state of the art business systems. Their accounting, billing, estimating and purchasing systems are weak.

    Advice to Management

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Oshkosh Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Simply put it was the co-workers , good people & hard workers.

    Cons

Product, both incoming and outgoing was priority one, workers were replaceable , on a daily basis if required.

    Advice to Management

Give the people working for you the feeling that they mean as much to the company as the products they move, load, and unload . Keeping 98% of the core work force on a permenant yet temporary status fails to foster personal pride in the jobs being performed or to the company they are working for. Lack of health care and benefits due to non permenant employment is also very negative among the work force.
