    Pros

I worked at JLG and they were growing quickly which was nice. Good place to learn and try new ideas.

I worked at Oshkosh Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some great people at Oshkosh that are passionate about doing great work. It is a miracle the products are as well made and innovative as they are...

    Cons

Red tape, bureaucracy, and more red tape... Somehow management convinces excellent people to come work there, and then they do not allow them to make any changes. All spending on new tech has to go through rounds and rounds of approval - this is exacerbated by the execs that have ONLY worked at Oshkosh, have been there 20+ years, and really have no clue that there is a better way to do things. They feel that the longer you sit in your chair each day, the better worker you are. They have no idea how to judge based on actual job performance.

The base pay is great but the benefits are just awful.

    Advice to Management

Stop paying the huge bucks for executive bonuses at corporate - nothing is getting done, so why shell out the money?? Get rid of those that are resistant to change and get Outlook for god's sake.

    Pros

Challenging work environment with people who care to provide the best products. Most of the leadership team is engaged in doing the right thing all of the time without introducing their own agendas. The products built here give people something to be proud of and you know they make a difference. There is also a great deal of room to move within the organization.

    Cons

As with most public companies, sometimes you make decisions based on stock prices, and not what is best for the organization.

    Advice to Management

Continue to look for products that will make you a viable option in the defense business. What other heavy equipment can you provide?
