    Pros

Salary was great, benefits are excellent.

    Cons

Not even the email system is within in the last decade. I've never seen a corporation this size not use Outlook!! No time for lunches...but that doesn't really matter since there isn't anywhere but your desk to eat your lunch. Expect to get to work an hour early and stay an hour late and your company cell phone will never stop chirping at your even when you get home. All technology improvements are continually 2 years out, but you are expected to perform like everything is a well oiled machine. Very little time allowed to get into your role.

    Advice to Management

Update technology, provide better training, and give people the opportunity to learn their role.

    Pros

    Good people
    Good pay and benefits

    Cons

    Work-Life balance
Felt like high school in terms of advancement-if you didn't golf with the right group, forget it

    Advice to Management

Could be a great place to work if people cared about the work they did and not just their next opportunity.

    Pros

Used to have good pay and benefits. No longer worth the trouble. You will be much happier working somewhere else for less money.

    Cons

Company doesn't self invest. Appears like their ready for a quick exit strategy. Layers upon layers of management with no accountability or decision making. Broken tools, bad parts, ridiculuos tack times, and endless cleaning duties. You're never gonna win. .

    Advice to Management

Executives need to start paying attention to what's going on down on the floor and get to the root of the problems. Get him outta here.

I worked at Oshkosh Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good paying job for Oshkosh and good support for surrounding businesses.

    Cons

Working overtime all the time and still continuous layoffs. Always running out of parts because of purchasing.

    Advice to Management

Just because you hire kids fresh out of college doesn't mean they know how to run a company. Need to quit blaming employees for their mistakes. Hopefully there will be progress in Oshkosh as promised when they extended the contract to keep work in Oshkosh.

    Pros

Large company making products for a great cause. The people are enjoyable to be around.

    Cons

work-life balance. They use lotus notes, which is awful. Not everyone is very friendly

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation full-time

    Pros

The work is challenging and is team oriented. Management can be demanding, but allows employees to take ownership and initiative to succeed. Sometimes feels a bit directionless, but that provides opportunities for team oriented employees to step up and take the lead. Co-workers are great and helpful.
Management in my division is very team positive, open to personal initiative, encourages ideas, innovation and have high company values.
If you are a team player, come in everyday committed to do your best, be supportive and understand that company shortcomings are opportunities to your career, then you'll find this a great place.

    Cons

Can be demanding and stressful for both managers and employees (which is why many comment on manager demands). Can sometimes require long hours for salaried employees. Can often seem one person short of a full team (or there's not enough hours in the day to finish tasks).

    Advice to Management

Consider more company news and accomplishment sharing with employees. More empathy with union employees might go a long way. Overall, management is very good, but the energy does not seem to flow down as well as could be.

    Cons

Work load more then national standard

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The money....but the bullcrap you have to put up with hardly makes it worth it.

    Cons

There isn't enough room here to list all the ways they violate employees rights. A herd of cattle at a slaughter house are treated with more respect.

    Advice to Management

    Get out while you can.

    Pros

Excellent pay.. wide variety of job opportunies and excellent benefits

    Cons

Too much push push let's rush to hit the numbers and not enough management caring about the quality of the product

    Advice to Management

Pull your head out of your tail and learn to actually listen to what employees have to say and their ideas instead of treating them like crap and shutting them out.
