I have been working at Otter Products full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get volunteer time off to help your favorite causes, great benefits, profit sharing, and OtterProducts truly cares about the well-being of their employees and giving back to the community. They also encourage their employees to grow in their roles. I've learned more in this role than I've ever had in past jobs. Otter is very good about recognizing and rewarding hard work. Most people I've met here have a heart of...

    Cons

Things can move pretty fast around here, if you aren't prepared or into that, this might not be the best place for you.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Otter Products full-time

    Pros

The people, opportunities and giving back is what keeps me here. I work with the most intelligent, fun, kind and hard working individuals. This company promotes healthy living and giving back to our community. For healthy living lifestyle, we have a trainer that comes onsite and does circuit training as well as yoga, meditation, etc. The benefits at Otter Products are awesome and PTO is more than generous. Cons

Work life balance. Although we have flexible working arrangements we work a lot. If you’re not at the stage in your life where you want to spend 55-60 hours at least a week (this varies based upon which department you work in) working then it may not be the best fit. Or it will be fine for you but you probably won’t move up.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to front line workers.

I have been working at Otter Products part-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

-They're great at adapting -They earnestly want to do the right thing for the workers and company -They have some great people the really care about the employees and company

    Cons

    - Too many glitches that is making work extremely stressful. Instead of closing the call center to get everything ironed out, they try to give us donuts and bad pizza. -They're not up front with CSRs. They implemented changes where sales are an important part to the call center, but Management team made it sound like our focus was still customer service. Then there was an email from the CEO that said CS was now a sales/marketing...

    Advice to Management

    - Since CS is now a sales/marketing department, just give us the % of the sales we made. -Change the point system. The turn over rate is the highest that it's been in a long time. It make for a really bad work experience in which more people will most likely leave to find options -If the systems to do our job are failing and having a ton of issues, close the center down. It creates bad experience for both the worker...

    Pros

Great work moral Great incentive program Everyone communicates very well or at least tried their best to.

    Cons

Not a job for everyone (inbound call center) Extremely fast pace can make you feel like it's hard to catch your breath. Schedule is based on your scores. Meaning of you have poor scores, you're stuck with the shifts no body wants.

    Pros

A good company with a lot of potential

    Cons

It’s growth is strangled by treating every challenge like a cell phone case.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Otter Products full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

During my 7 years at Otter I was in multiple positions. I always had the support of my direct management, my director and my VP. They were there to listen and help me resolve the issues that were within their power. Towards the end I had support from all involved while I transitioned out of my position. The teams that I were part of were stellar and those within the company that I worked with were kind, compassionate...

    Cons

There were times when “Work Hard, Play Hard” was out of balance. And though my direct manager did everything he could to enable the whole team to have a proper work life balance - workloads, fire-fighting multiple issues and special projects would frequently throw that well out of balance. During the IT busy season, I found myself and my co-workers working 80 hours a week to meet company goals and deadlines. Being...

    Advice to Management

Recognize the good employees and performance manage out the bad. Build out career paths and growth opportunities within the company. Keep encouraging people to do their very best but catch burnout before it becomes a problem. Continue to be community focused as that is one of the best things about working there - giving back!

I have been working at Otter Products full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Good location, good benefits, owners and c-suite seem to care.

    Cons

BEWARE: Executive team told all employees to give 5 star ratings on here to boost their rating (ignore the dozens of reviews posted August 2017)! Mean girls club is rampant in the marketing department. If you are a brown noser, you will continue to get promoted into positions you are severely underqualified for. Most of marketing leadership is inexperienced which causes a mess in the marketing department. Core values/good...

I worked at Otter Products full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Great company benefits, great 401k matching, vto, pto, sick days. Great Otters to work with.

    Cons

IT operations/infrastructure management is very bad. Otters that have been around for years are quitting and being forced out of their jobs. There is no recognition they are told to work more hours to get the job done. Very shortly staffed. IT Infrastructure Otters are stressed and walking out.

    Advice to Management

Otterbox is supposed to be a great culture to work under. Treat your Employees right and find someone who knows how to be a manager.
