I have been working at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay for no extra schooling required, not a hard job to do, get to work with the public, get to see some exciting stuff in the emergency room sometimes

    Cons

Bosses don’t always listen to employees, not for people with weak immune systems or you’ll probably get sick a lot

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to work average benefits

    Cons

I have never ever worked anywhere that punished you for being in hospital and being absent from work. They don't excuse the absence and if you have more than 8 absences a year you are terminated regardless of why you were absent.

    Advice to Management

Need to really reevaluate attendance policy due to things do happen to people and emergency's do occur. So say an employee had to be in hospital for three days that's 1 occurrence then say a week later employee back to hospital another occurrence then say two months later your child gets flu you call in and are absent then next day u now have the flu you call in and tell the truth that you have flu this absence is 2 occurrences because even though it was consecutive days it was different excuses. That is absolutely ridiculous so an employee is better off lying and just saying child is sick for both days because then it would only be one occurrence. So there it is all in 3 months U can have 4 occurrences even with doctors notes U are still given the occurrences the same as u would if u didn't have any doctors notes. So for next 9 months you are on the edge of being terminated if anything else were to happen.

    Pros

Bellefonte Physician Services, which is a part of Bon Secours/Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital was a great organization to work for overall. Customer service is very important to their organization.

    Cons

The pay was not as good as most office LPN positions. Aside from that, the only con for me was a personal issue with my direct office manager.

    Advice to Management

Hire more help! Spend money to make money, radiology is becoming a widespread concern with the general public; spend the money to show them we have the best of the best.

I worked at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of my favorite things about OLBH were the benefits, the Christian work environment, and the opportunities to advance. They offer tuition reimbursement and great benefits - even for part time employees.

    Cons

I honestly can't think of cons to list. I guess if I had to I would say for me, I wasn't able to keep the job because I am in nursing school and a full-time Mom. They were, however, more than accommodating with my school schedule.

    Pros

    Cons

The pay for office LPNs leaves much to be desired.

    Advice to Management

Use managers with college education who have good problem solving skills instead of managers who have their GED.
