I worked at Our Lady of the Lake (Louisiana) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a ton of state funding.

    Cons

More drama than a TV show. Drama between management and management, management and staff, and staff and staff. It's ridiculous. Management is so greedy that they ignored a doctor's order to block a bed and put our unit's staff in danger by unblocking beds that needed to be blocked. Because they are a catholic hospital, they pipe in prayer all day long over the intercom, yet management doesn't practice what they preach. Dreadful place to work.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Quit gossiping.

I have been working at Our Lady of the Lake (Louisiana) full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You get two bonuses a year. You can pay for food off of your employee badge and uniforms also you can pay for or things in pharmacy and gift shop off your badge.

    Cons

Biggest hospital in Louisiana and is the lowest paid...new hires get paid more than employees who have been with the company for years and insurance benefits aren't good...employees who get hired start off with higher positions and you are told you have to put in the work to get a position and apply for the position online when it comes available but when you apply you don't even get a interview...they also change your shift and if you can't work it they give you 30 days to find something else within the hospital and if you don't they will put it like you forfeit your job but this is a Christian facility...standards have gone down the drain it's nothing like it used to be employees have sagging pants, earrings in nose and other places of the face, different colored hair that humans can't grow, nails all different colors longer than 1 inch, appearance is poor

    Advice to Management

Don't bring in new employees with higher positions look at who is qualified for these positions within the department first and give interviews to those employees who applied for that particular position before you hire someone new who isn't qualified for the position of doesn't even have a clue of how to do the job

I have been working at Our Lady of the Lake (Louisiana) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers are mostly great, flexible schedule, 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts, rotating weekends, potential for overtime, some chances to cross train into other positions

    Cons

Pay rate, management out of touch with employees and unit needs, rules implemented that do nothing to help patient care but hinder ability to get the right things done

I have been working at Our Lady of the Lake (Louisiana) full-time

    Pros

They have good benefits , medical , dental, vision as well as retirement benefits , one of which the employee contributes money every pay period and also the one the employer set aside for employees when they reach retirement age.

    Cons

The work load is alot, the job is too demanding, we literally work do hard and sometimes we are so pre occupiedwe don't have the time to eat or even empty the bladder

    Advice to Management

My advice is for them to decrease the patent /staff ratio for them to retain workers, If not, they will wake up one day to find out that all their employees are gone
