I have been working at OutSystems full-time

    Pros

Fun (but noisy) environment in a cool office with nice perks. People are really hard working and love the product. The product is great and the market is growing. (You can read lots of cool stuff in the other reviews...)

    Cons

Culture is vanishing as the company grows. Some top performers were promoted to positions in which they are simply not great at (sorry), the growth wasn't well planned, and the ones that stayed in similar positions were left completely overwhelmed with work. Salaries are average for a company that wants to hire top talent. Some of best employees are starting to feel unhappy. One of the top reasons is the way people...

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people. Be fair. Praise teams not individuals. Lose the self promotion culture. Avoid at all cost promoting arrogant people and people with communication issues.

Thank you for your thoughtful description. In fact, our accelerated growth has created a variety of challenges for managers and anyone else who is committed to company success. We see from your comment that you do not understand or value the criteria behind some recent promotions. ...

I have been working at OutSystems full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Even though there is a continuous loss year by year of the initial culture, there is still some remaining people that strive to keep it alive. Fast paced, learning culture, ask why... having direct go to management (captains) is something working well and should be kept. Great product and great market opportunity! Being part of something that can become really big!

    Cons

Compensation (at least in PT) is basically rubbish... salary grid bands are kept updated with market data, but it is only marketing, because each band is divided in 3 (Less experienced and skilled, mid point, More experienced and skilled) and the large majority of people is in the left side of the bands, meaning that ultimately OutSystems employees are unskilled and inexperienced!!! It doesn’t make sense whatsoever...

    Advice to Management

Don’t pay with peanuts because eventually you will only get monkeys!!!

    March 17, 2019Vice-President, People

Thank you for sharing your concerns and sorry to hear that our shared salary bands in Portugal are meaningless to you. The goal was exactly the opposite! We want to be transparent and to explain the "why" behind salary decisions. OutSystems offers much more than the compensation ...

I have been working at OutSystems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

For the moment, I can share an extreme warm on-boarding process with HR recruiters dedicated to put me in the loop for the company culture. You see team members proud of working in Outsystems and discovered themselves passionate about the digital world, products and solutions development.

    Cons

Nothing to declare so far :)

Its a young, innovative, result driven company that listens to its employees and quickly change and adapt to business but also employees needs. Driven by great values, it is a great place to work and the work it's rewarding because you always feel that your daily work is contributing to the companies goals.

    Cons

The growth was sudden and maybe not managed in the best way.

I have been working at OutSystems full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

You feel in charge of your work and your future. There's space to grow alongside OutSystems and become who you want to be professionally and, depending on your team, personally too. There's also great visibility of in what ways you can do it, and own your future. The work-life balance is one of the biggest pros as OutSystems give you the space you need, but it still depends a lot on you. You have the time you need...

    Cons

As every company growing in a boom like OutSystems is now, you tend to lose visibility of how things are, who is who, how your work influences the company... but the work to make it more visible is being done with tools like OKR's and constant updates.

    Advice to Management

Keep your good work on focusing what OutSystems does on the hands of great talent and with a vision on a future, not just profits.

I have been working at OutSystems full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I joined the Marketing department at OutSystems almost 3 years ago, and it has been an incredible journey. There's a lot of transparency; each department has its own career progression structure and you know from the beginning how you can grow. Plus the culture is great. Everyone is encouraged to try and fail (fast and cheap) and that's really motivating to know that your ideas are heard. And you know that you're working...

    Cons

It's a complex product, so if you don't have an IT background like me, you might face some challenges to understand it in the beginning. But everyone, from VP level to junior is always willing to help you clarify any questions you might have. So, if you get bored easily and are up for a good challenge, I encourage you to check the available positions.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!
